Chapter 8: No Need for the Child to Stay
"Give me back the examination report!" Qin Xi tiptoed to snatch the paper from Mu Jinhang's hand.
Mu Jinhang sneered in anger, gripping her hand tightly. "Whose illegitimate child is this? Which man did you sleep with to get pregnant? Is it Ji Li?"
"Illegitimate child?" A series of shameful questions ignited Qin Xi's fury. "Mu Jinhang, do you really not know whose child is in my belly? No one else has touched me besides you!"
As soon as she finished speaking, both of them froze.
Qin Xi suddenly felt a wave of fear wash over her, terrified that this man would force her to have an abortion. She immediately turned and ran, leaving the examination report behind.
But Mu Jinhang was quicker, firmly gripping her arm.
At that moment, a soft and delicate voice came from behind them. "Sister, you're pregnant. That's wonderful."
Qin Xi turned around to see Qin Zhiruo with tear-filled eyes, forcing a smile. "Mu Jinhang, I can't have children because of my health issues. Now that my sister is carrying your child, I am genuinely happy for both of you."
Her pitiful demeanor, with tears threatening to fall, was truly heart-wrenching.
Sure enough, Mu Jinhang released Qin Xi and pulled her into an embrace, comforting her. "Qin Zhiruo, don’t think too much. You will have children in the future as well."
"You don’t need to comfort me; I know my own body. Don’t worry, once my sister’s child is born, I will love him as if he were my own," Qin Zhiruo replied with a gentle and magnanimous expression, even offering a warm smile to Qin Xi.
Qin Xi looked at her smile, but instinctively took a step back, a sense of foreboding creeping into her heart.
In the next moment, she heard Qin Madam cheerfully say, “Mu Jinhang, how about this? Since Qin Zhiruo and Xi are sisters, why not wait until Xi gives birth and then adopt the child under Qin Zhiruo’s name? This way, it would be legitimate and the child wouldn’t be laughed at as an illegitimate child, right?”
“You’re dreaming!” Qin Xi couldn’t believe that they would have such malicious intentions. “You want to scheme against my child? Ha! There’s no way I would let my child be adopted by Qin Zhiruo, allowing her to mistreat him at will!”
“Elder sister, how could you think that? I just want the child to grow up with a proper name, so he won’t be mocked as an illegitimate child in the future.” Qin Zhiruo leaned against Mu Jinhang’s chest, sobbing pitifully.
Qin Xi was so furious that she laughed: “Alright, alright, you’re the kindest. You’re thinking of the child, right? Then please break up with Mu Jinhang! Mu Jinhang, this child is yours. I want to give him a complete family; all you have to do is marry me. Whether you love me or not doesn’t matter!”
The last sentence made Mu Jinhang extremely uncomfortable; he couldn’t help but sneer, “Qin Xi, you’re really playing hard to get! Trying to use the child to force me into marrying you? What a delusion! I hate being threatened. Today I’m giving you two choices: either adopt the child under Qin Zhiruo’s name or go for an abortion!”
“Ha, Mu Jinhang, you’re so heartless for Qin Zhiruo that you’d abandon your own child!” Qin Xi laughed mockingly and stepped back repeatedly. “Fine, actually I was lying to you; this child has nothing to do with you. You have no right to decide his fate.”
Mu Jinhang’s face turned extremely grim.
Qin Xi turned to escape but was stopped by his bodyguard.
Mu Jinhang coldly said, “Since this child isn’t mine, then there’s even less reason for him to stay!”
“You… you want to kill my child?” Qin Xi struggled in fear and anger.
But in the end, she couldn’t match the strength of the bodyguard. Before being dragged away, she clearly saw Qin Zhiruo reveal a triumphant and vicious smile.
At the end of the corridor, around the corner, a man clenched his fists in anger, his gaze fixed intently on the scene before him.
