Chapter 5: He Absolutely Cannot Be in Danger
In the blink of an eye, it was the Double Ninth Festival. Qin Xi wanted to pay respects to her adoptive parents, which was one of the important reasons for her return to the country.
Mu Jinhang originally planned to accompany her, but he had a crucial International Video Conference scheduled. Instead, he arranged for two bodyguards to stay by Qin Xi's side.
After he finished the meeting, his secretary lowered his voice and said, "Mr. Mu, Zhou Li wants to see you. It's very important and concerns Sister Qin Xi's personal safety."
Zhou Li was originally part of the Qin Family but had quietly switched to working for Mu Jinhang over the past two years. He was the one who had leaked information about Qin Zhiruo's affair with her male lover.

Ningcheng Cemetery was located on the outskirts of the city.
Qin Xi and Ning Bao sat in the back of the car, with one bodyguard driving and another sitting in the passenger seat.
The outskirts were sparsely populated, and as they got closer to the cemetery, it became increasingly desolate, with only an occasional car whizzing by them.
Suddenly, the bodyguard received a call from Mu Jinhang: "Bring them back immediately. Their safety must be ensured!"
"Understood!" After the previous incident where Qin Xi was kidnapped at the hospital, the bodyguard no longer dared to be careless and quickly instructed the other guard to turn the car around.
Qin Xi was puzzled. "What's going on?"
"Mr. Mu has ordered us to return."
"Why?"
"Mr. Mu wants to ensure your safety and that of Young Master."

As the vehicle passed through an intersection, the traffic lights turned green, and the bodyguard drove forward.
Just as they reached the middle of the intersection, a heavy truck suddenly barreled out from the right side, heading straight for Qin Xi's car!
The bodyguard quickly swerved the steering wheel, the tires screeching sharply against the pavement.

Two bodyguards rushed over, and passing cars began to stop. Some people pulled out their phones to call for help.
Qin Xi had no idea how she ended up following the ambulance to the hospital.
She looked at the man who had always been proud and cold, lying on the stretcher covered in blood. The crimson liquid was especially glaring, making it hard for her to stand steady.
“Mommy, don’t be afraid. The bad uncle will be fine,” Ning Bao comforted her with remarkable maturity. Despite being frightened, he didn’t cry loudly; instead, he became even more obedient.
Qin Xi sat pale at the door of the operating room, holding Ning Bao tightly. “Yes, you have to believe that he will be fine…”
Mu Jinhang, you haven’t given me the chance to love you again, so you absolutely cannot be in danger!
Soon, a flurry of hurried footsteps approached.
Qin Xi looked up and saw the Qin Family and Mu Family rushing over, all wearing worried expressions. Qin Zhiruo looked as if she might faint from concern.
A doctor came out holding the surgical consent form. Mrs. Mu trembled as she signed it, repeatedly asking, “Will Mu Jinhang be okay? How badly is he hurt?”
“Mrs. Mu, Mr. Mu suffered a severe impact. His right leg is fractured, and there is intracranial bleeding. He must undergo craniotomy immediately.”
