"Looks good for only three seconds, then crashes."
"Stop showing off," Su Mingxian shot him an exasperated glance before saying, "Shanshan, come sit over here."
Xi Shanshan finally snapped back to reality and quickly exclaimed, "Sister Xian, what did you just say? Did you say you agreed to the future partnership?"
Huangpu River looked confused. "Sister Xian, what do you mean by future partnership? What does that entail?"
"Yeah, Sister Xian?" Wang Daguo also looked over with curiosity.
"The literal meaning," Su Mingxian replied with a smile as she set down the fruit platter. "From now on, Shanshan will be one of the shareholders of our Fried Chicken Shop."
"Shareholder?" The two exclaimed in unison. Huangpu River immediately protested, "Sister Xian, why should she become a shareholder of our Fried Chicken Shop?"
Xi Shanshan: ...
Is it really okay for the handsome guy to target me like this?
"Shanshan is investing a hundred thousand, plus she gets the first right of purchase for a piece of land in Pudong," Su Mingxian said with an annoyed glance at him. "You guys don’t need to be envious; if you work hard, there will be dividends for you too. Who knows, you might even get a share."
"Really?" Wang Daguo's eyes lit up at this news, and he rubbed his hands together in excitement.
Huangpu River, however, responded differently. With a grin, he said, "Sister Xian, I don’t need it. What’s yours is mine and what’s mine is yours—I'm all yours..."
Before she could finish her sentence, an orange flew directly at him. "Get back to work; there’s still a pile of tasks left on the terrace."
Huangpu River took a large step back, caught the orange, and was about to speak when Wang Daguo pulled him away. "Sister Xian, we’re going now, right now."
Once the two had left, Xi Shanshan bit her lip and asked, "Sister Xian, who is that Huangpu River to you?"
"What does he have to do with me? He just has a sharp tongue." After saying this, she tossed an orange to Xi Shanshan. "Don’t listen to his nonsense; he’s just talking rubbish."
"Oh." Xi Shanshan's gaze followed Huangpu River until he disappeared from view. "He’s really handsome."
"Don’t be infatuated; he only has that face going for him." Su Mingxian quickly interrupted her. "Now, let’s talk about the details of your investment. We can be friends, but we need to be clear about business."
Xi Shanshan continued to gaze dreamily at the staircase. "Sister Xian, you say, you say—"
"Since you want to invest, let’s make things clear first." Su Mingxian said seriously. "We might not have the means for that project; after all, making so much money before the end of the year is quite unrealistic. If you really want to do business with me, we’ll have to start from what’s in front of us. You can invest one hundred thousand as capital, and I’ll give you shares according to that."
Xi Shanshan nodded absentmindedly. "Sister Xian, I’ll listen to you. I don’t know much about business anyway. I wasn’t counting on that piece of land either. To be honest, I’ve been trying to sell my house for three months now, and this is the only one I’ve managed to sell. I’ve given up on making a lot of money by the end of the year; it’s just too hard to earn."
With a look of lingering fear, Xi Shanshan turned her head around with a mournful expression.
Su Mingxian couldn’t help but laugh and then took out a contract from her bag and handed it to her.
"Take a good look at this. If anything doesn’t seem right, let me know."
Xi Shanshan felt dizzy just looking at the document. "Sister Xian, forget it. You handle it; I don't understand this stuff."
"That won't do. This is business, not a joke," Su Mingxian said seriously. "If you can't read it, take it home and let your family help you. Bring it back to me tomorrow. We need to get this sorted out before the Fried Chicken Shop opens."
"Alright then." Xi Shanshan happily tucked the contract into her bag, relieved that she didn't have to deal with it.
Then she looked at Su Mingxian with a furtive expression, hesitating to speak. "Ahem, um, Sister Xian, about that guy, Huangpu River..."
