I crouched in front of him, a slight smile playing at the corners of my mouth. "Do you know who I am?"
A Yong looked at me in terror, shaking his head vigorously.
"Then do you remember the sins you committed?" I raised an eyebrow. "Back then, you followed the Commander, committing countless atrocities, killing so many people, harming so many lives. Do you remember?"
A Yong shrank back into the corner, desperately shaking his head.
I smiled faintly. "That's alright; I'm here to help you remember."
I raised my hand and slashed across his face with a knife.
"Ah!" he screamed.
I looked at him expressionlessly. "Back then, it was you who helped them kill my parents."
Another slash.
"Back then, you helped them abduct my sister."
Another cut.
"How many lives did you ruin back then?"
"Ah! Ah!" he screamed, trembling and begging for mercy. "I was wrong, I was wrong! Please let me go, I'm begging you..."
I continued to look at him without a trace of pity.
"Please, let me go! I was wrong; I truly understand my mistakes..." He cried out desperately, shouting for mercy.
I gazed at him, devoid of any compassion, and with a swift motion of my hand, I ended his life.
He fell silent.
I set the knife down and let out a long sigh of relief.
"Finally..." My eyes reddened slightly. "Another one taken care of."
The Second Concubine nodded in acknowledgment.
After handling everything and cleaning up all traces, including Living Fat, I returned to the hall.
Madam was anxiously waiting, her heart racing with anticipation.
When she saw me return, her eyes lit up as she eagerly snatched the Living Fat from my hands. The oil emitted a strange, enticing fragrance—rich and vividly red.
After applying the oil, she rushed to the mirror, watching as her face gradually transformed, becoming youthful and vibrant. Tears welled up in her eyes.
"This..." she said, her voice trembling with emotion, "Can I really look like I’m sixteen or seventeen again?"
I nodded. "Yes, you’ll see the effects soon."
Her excitement was palpable as she nodded vigorously. "Good, good! As long as I can regain my youth, I’ll do anything!"
I smiled at her. "Madam, the Living Fat will only last for ten days. If you want more in the future, you’ll need to find someone else."
She waved her hand dismissively. "That’s fine."
Watching her, I felt a chill in my heart. I had thought she would show some compassion for those around her, but instead, she agreed without hesitation.
I glanced at the servants nearby who were keeping their heads down. They may have looked away, but they had all seen what happened when I took A Yong away. They knew well that A Yong was taken to produce the Living Fat. Yet none of them dared to intervene—or perhaps they simply didn’t want to.
Suddenly, memories of my sister flooded back to me; she had been just as helpless, terrified, and desperate. Commander held immense power; he could do whatever he wanted without consequence. In this world, there was no one who could stand against him.
That’s why my sister and I had to find other ways.
I stepped back and retreated into the shadows of the garden where I found Second Concubine waiting for me.
“How is it?” she asked me.
“It’s resolved,” I replied calmly.
She nodded, “The Madam has been looking in the mirror all day; she probably won’t remember the Commander until nightfall.”
“Mm,” I nodded in agreement. “Once the oil runs out and there’s no one around her, she’ll start to worry.”
“Yes,” the Second Concubine nodded, then asked, “What do we do next?”
“We wait,” I said. “We wait for the right moment.”
“Alright,” the Second Concubine nodded.
I returned to my room, quietly waiting.
In recent days, the Madam's favor remained as strong as ever.
In the villa's garden, the Second Concubine was slapped by the Madam.
When the Commander found out, he only gave the Second Concubine some jewelry as compensation.
The Madam was even more domineering, directly ordering that the Second Concubine be locked up.
Late at night, I found the Second Concubine.
There was a clear handprint on her face.
My heart ached as I looked at her.
“I’m fine,” she held my hand. “I’m used to it.”
My eyes turned slightly red.
She smiled gently, “It’s okay; it will get better soon. Once we take our revenge, I’ll be free.”
I nodded.
“I saw the Commander today; he noticed the Madam’s changes too,” the Second Concubine lowered her voice. “I told him, just as you said, that it’s the Madam who has become younger.”
“Good,” I nodded. “Now it’s up to him.”
“Mm,” the Second Concubine nodded and held my hand tightly. “Next, our target is the Commander.”
