In the afternoon, Lin Yi arrived. He stood at the door, peeking inside for a moment. Finally, he mustered up the courage and rang the doorbell. I ignored him and continued playing mobile games with Ping Ping.
"Mom, my brother is here," Ping Ping said. Seeing that I didn't react, she also ignored Lin Yi.
Lin Yi quietly called out, "Auntie."
I remained silent. Ping Ping glanced at Lin Yi and quickly looked down again.
Unable to hold back any longer, Lin Yi snatched my phone and slammed it on the ground. "Why did you stop talking to me after you came back? You used to be so nice to me!"
He finally exploded.
I calmly picked up my phone and finally looked at him. "I was nice to you because you were my child."
"But later you said you didn't want me to be your son anymore; you wanted Xiang Wei to be your son."
"Now Xiang Wei is your mother; you should go find her instead of looking for me."
"No, she..." Lin Yi tried to say something.
I interrupted him, "Just leave quickly; I don't want Xiang Wei coming here to cause trouble for me again."
Lin Yi's face turned pale. His lips moved as if he wanted to say something, but in the end, he remained silent.
He stood there, hesitating to leave.
I urged him, "You should go quickly."
"Mom, Aunt Xiang Wei is not good to me at all."
Lin Yi finally spoke up.
His eyes were red: "She hits me, she scolds me, she pokes me with needles..."
"Mom, please help me."
"I can't help you."
I replied coldly, "Just go away, you're being a nuisance here."

"Get lost!"
I shouted harshly, "You have nothing to do with me, just get out!"
Lin Yi remained rooted to the spot, still unwilling to leave.
He stared at me intently, as if he couldn't believe I was saying such cruel things to him.
"I told you to get lost!"
I pointed at the door and yelled, "Get out!"
Lin Yi stood there for a long time.
He continued to stare at me.
I showed no mercy.
Finally, he turned and walked away.
Through the window, I watched his despondent figure retreating, feeling no pity—only a sense of satisfaction.
The bruises on his neck, around his ears, and on his wrists were faintly visible.
I couldn't help but wonder what Xiang Wei had done to him.
But none of that mattered to me anymore.
I turned to Ping Ping and smiled slightly. "Ping Ping, are you happy?"
"We're leaving."
"Happy!"
Ping Ping nodded vigorously.
That night, Ping Ping and I emerged from the tunnel.
Before we left, I set a fire.
The villa was soon engulfed in flames.
When Lin Yang rushed back, all he could see was a sea of fire.
His face turned pale as he stared at the villa consumed by flames, despair and heartache filling his eyes.
"Zhou Qin!"
His voice was hoarse as he tried to rush into the inferno to save me.
The bodyguards stopped him.
"Zhou Qin! Zhou Qin!"
Tears streamed down his face as he called my name over and over, as if that could bring me back.
But I would not return.
"Zhou Qin! Zhou Qin!"
He fell to his knees, weeping uncontrollably.
"Zhou Qin, I was wrong, I was wrong..."
"I truly understand my mistakes now. Please come back."
"Zhou Qin, I'm begging you, come back..."
"Zhou Qin..."
He cried out in deep sorrow.
I watched him from a distance, my eyes betraying no emotion. The villa had been reduced to ashes. The villa built by Lin Yang, which he used to imprison me, was finally no more.
