Rao Gang did not doubt that his son would frame his daughter; he simply thought that Rao Jian had misidentified someone, perhaps mistaking someone who looked similar. However, the voice he heard that morning solidified his doubts.
Rao Gang looked at Rao Jie awkwardly and said, "Jie Jie, can you explain what's going on? I didn't mean to..." He hesitated, unable to finish his sentence. He had secretly saved up some bonus money to give to Rao Jie as discretionary funds. If Rao Jie really was staying at a friend's house, she wouldn't be short on money.
Rao Jie slowly lowered her head, gritting her teeth. After holding back for a long time, she managed not to shout out loud. "Where is Rao Jian? Where is he?" she yelled in a low voice. This time, even her older brother was silent.
Rao Jian was spouting nonsense, his mouth spewing filth. This wasn’t the first time she had encountered him; in the past, she had avoided provoking him at home, and they had coexisted without issues. But today, he unexpectedly splashed dirty water on her.
There was already an age gap between them; they had only lived together when they were very young and had almost no memories of it. There was no sibling bond to speak of—more often than not, Rao Jian looked down on her achievements, relying on their parents' favoritism.
There was no need to ask for reasons; he never needed a justification for his misdeeds and didn’t even consider them wrong. He was simply a child completely spoiled by his family.
Huang Xiang immediately took his side. "What’s wrong? You made a mistake and got caught by your brother, and now you’re angry and trying to make trouble for him? If your brother wasn’t looking out for you, would he have told us?"
Rao Jie was so furious she could barely breathe. "You’re all so clever! If he really cared about me, if he truly considered me his sister, if he hadn’t been lying through his teeth, then why didn’t he stop me when he saw me? Why did he just watch as I went off with an older man and let the legitimate wife come over to scold me? He just stood there and watched, then came back to tell you all this as if it were normal! If you were there and saw what Rao Jian said, would you have just stood by?"
Rao Jie’s questions left both Rao Gang and Huang Xiang momentarily stunned; they couldn’t respond right away. But deep down, they knew the answer—if they were in such a situation, they would definitely intervene. Rao Gang would step in to stop it, and Huang Xiang would take action; there was no way they would just watch everything unfold.
Rao Jie didn’t care about their reactions anymore. She knew that at this hour, Rao Jian must still be asleep, so she began shouting loudly throughout the house. "Rao Jian! Come out here and explain yourself!"
Her voice was louder than anything Huang Xiang and Rao Gang had ever heard from her; they were astonished that she could shout so loudly. It seemed that after leaving this home, Rao Jie had become more assertive and even more unfamiliar.
Only Rao Jie understood that she was venting her inner rage through her loud cries.

Rao Jian was indeed sleeping at home when he was awakened by Rao Jie’s shouting. Angrily flinging open the door, he yelled, "Who’s making all that noise? Are you trying to drive me crazy?"
After shouting, he saw Rao Jie standing there and scoffed derisively. "Oh look, the ungrateful wolf has returned."
Suppressing her anger, Rao Jie pressed him further. "Rao Jian, if you have the guts to say what you told our parents again—what you claimed to have seen with your own eyes—then say it again."
Rao Jian leaned against the door, scratching his head in annoyance, and frowned as he said, "What is there to talk about? I really didn't expect that you would rather be kept by an old man than marry Young Master Hu. What are you after? Is it that you just don't like me and don't want to help me? You're truly ungrateful; your family has raised you for nothing."
