Rao Jie shouted angrily, "Which of your eyes saw me being kept?" 0
Rao Jian, acting shamelessly, pointed at his own eyes and replied, "Both of them saw it." 0
Rao Jie scoffed, "Did you see me getting cozy with an old man on the street? How old do you think this old man is?" 0
Rao Jian paused for a moment and said, "I couldn't see clearly, but he was definitely someone from society, older than you." 0
"And you say he bought me designer bags and clothes?" 0
Rao Jian retorted confidently, "You came out of that mall, which specializes in high-end clothes and bags. Didn't you ask him to accompany you shopping there?" 0
Rao Jie raised her voice sharply, "I ask you, did you see it? Did I have designer bags and clothes in my hands?" 0
Rao Jian stammered, "I was too far away to see clearly; all I know is you were carrying something." 0
Rao Jie laughed in anger. "So I can't even take my own bag out? And you claim we went to a hotel? There are no hotels near that mall, and we only got into a car in front of it. How can you say I went to a hotel with him?" 0
At this point, many doubts arose. Huang Xiang and Rao Gang, who had previously been misled, finally recalled their past experiences of being deceived and looked at Rao Jian with suspicion. 0
Feeling cornered by their questioning, Rao Jian snapped back, "Do I need to think about it? It was late at night; you were with an old man and got into a car together. Where else could you be going if not to a hotel?" 0
"So you're saying you didn't see anything at all and are just talking nonsense. Everything you've said about the 'real person' coming to find me is just your exaggerated imagination to fool our parents, isn't it?" As Rao Jie spoke, her body trembled uncontrollably as if her very soul was trying to defend itself. 0
Rao Jian immediately shot back angrily, "What do you mean fooling? I don't need to see it with my own eyes to know what would happen. I've seen such things before. I just got carried away and said what I thought. But it's still likely true. Otherwise, how have you survived outside these past few months without coming home?" 0
Rao Jie didn't want to argue with Rao Jian any longer; instead, she turned to Huang Xiang and Rao Gang. 0
Huang Xiang still wore a stern expression, but her demeanor had clearly wavered. 0
Rao Gang looked completely stunned. 0
Rao Jie found it amusing as she looked at them and said, "He used to deceive you in school by claiming he had good grades, and you believed him. Then he failed to get into college and later claimed he needed money when he went out into society; again, you believed him while he squandered it on his own pleasures. The number of lies he has told in front of you is countless. Even so, when he slanders me, you'd rather believe him—a habitual liar—than trust me who never lies? And yet you say you're not biased?" 0
"What did you say!" Rao Jian was furious at being exposed and stepped forward as if to hit her but was stopped by Rao Gang. 0
"Are you exaggerating to deceive us? And now you want to hit Rao Jie?" Rao Gang was genuinely angry; thinking back on how Huang Xiang had just berated Rao Jie made him feel sick inside about his misunderstanding of her. 0
With his father blocking him from doing anything, Rao Jian turned his gaze toward Huang Xiang. 0
No parent wants to be blamed by their child; Huang Xiang felt even more unwilling. She thought her daughter had become increasingly defiant since the last incident—always arguing back and making them unhappy. Is this how a daughter should behave? 0
"At least what your brother said before must be true; you just admitted it yourself that you were with an old man. Now tell us what your relationship really is!" 0
