The morning sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains, casting dappled shadows on the floor.
I woke up from a terrifying dream, drenched in cold sweat, my heart pounding like a drum.
The scene from last night was still vivid in my mind, the image of Vito transforming into a giant wolf etched deeply into my memory, refusing to fade.
I sat up abruptly and looked around; the room was empty.
"Vito?"
I called out tentatively, my voice trembling slightly.
A deep male voice came from behind me. "Good morning, Marina."
I turned around sharply to see a tall, striking man standing behind me, backlit by the sunlight, making it hard to see his face.
As he stepped into the light, I finally got a clear look at him.
He had a chiseled face, deep silver eyes, a high nose, and sensuous thin lips. His long black hair fell casually over his shoulders.
"Vito?"
I widened my eyes in disbelief, covering my mouth in shock, hardly able to accept what I was seeing.
"It’s me."
Vito smiled faintly, a hint of bitterness in his expression.
He walked over to me and gently pulled me into his embrace. "I'm sorry, Marina. I didn’t mean to worry you."
His arms were warm and strong, bringing me a sense of comfort and security.
"You... you really are Vito?"
I still couldn't believe that the fierce giant wolf from last night had transformed into this gentle man before me.
"Yes, Marina, I am a werewolf."
Vito's voice was deep and hoarse, like a growl emanating from the depths of his throat.
He released me and walked to the window, gazing out at the distant city, his eyes filled with loneliness and helplessness.
"I never wanted to drag you into my world, but now, I need your help."
Vito turned around, his gaze piercing as he looked at me.
He recounted the century-old feud between the Moonshadow Wolf Clan and the Night Wolf Clan, revealing the truth about how he was framed as the heir of the Moonshadow Wolf Clan.
He explained that the reason he had transformed into a small dog before was due to severe injuries that had weakened his powers.
On last night's full moon, with the aid of the Moon Goddess, he had regained some of his strength and could switch between human and wolf forms once again.
I listened in astonishment, feeling as though I were immersed in a fantastical movie.
Werewolves, the Moon Goddess, family feuds—these things that existed only in legends were happening in my life.
I felt both shocked and curious; this mysterious Werewolf World was filled with unknowns and dangers for me, yet I could not resist the desire to explore it.
Vito asked for my help to confront the Night Wolf Clan and reclaim what was rightfully his.
I took a deep breath, striving to calm myself. "Vito, I will help you, no matter what happens."
Vito looked at me gratefully, hope shining in his eyes.
He began to teach me about the Werewolf World, including the basic rules of werewolf society, its hierarchy, and various abilities.
To my surprise, I found that I had an extraordinary understanding of this knowledge, as if I were meant to belong to this world from birth.
Just as we had begun to establish a thread of trust and hope, a wave of danger suddenly descended upon us.
Vito's expression changed dramatically. "This is bad; members of the Night Wolf Clan are coming!"
He grabbed my hand and said, "Run!"
We dashed out of the room, racing down the corridor.
The pursuers from the Night Wolf Clan were closing in, their footsteps echoing in the empty hallway like a death knell, pounding against my heart.
A wave of unprecedented fear washed over me, but I did not falter.
I followed Vito closely, knowing that I had to face this crisis alongside him.
We reached the stairwell when Vito suddenly stopped.
He turned around, determination shining in his eyes. "Marina, take this and go ahead!"
He pressed an ancient pendant into my hand. "I will find you!"
Before I could react, he turned and charged towards the pursuers.
I clutched the pendant tightly, filled with anxiety and fear.
Vito, you must come back safely!
