William's frantic actions instantly sparked panic in the classroom. The surrounding female students screamed in terror, crying out as they backed away, their faces etched with fear and anxiety. A few braver male students rushed forward, forcefully pulling William away from James. Sharp curses echoed in the air as the students shouted angrily, as if William had become a despised rat, guilty of unforgivable crimes. 0

"You lunatic! What are you doing?!" one student yelled, swinging his fist hard against William's back. Another boy mercilessly pinned William to the ground, pressing his head harshly against the cold floor. William's cheek scraped against the rough surface, pain radiating from his skin; yet, that pain was trivial compared to the confusion and bewilderment swirling within him. 0

"You don't understand! You've all been deceived by him!" William shouted frantically, his voice hoarse and desperate. "He's a demon! James is not human! He’s controlling all of you!" 0

However, no one paid attention to his words. The students' anger had been drowned out by fear and panic; they could not hear what William was saying. All they saw was their heroic professor being attacked on the ground, and this madman was the culprit. Fists rained down one after another, trampling over William's body, curses filling the air. 0

"Bastard! How dare you attack the professor?" someone shouted angrily, delivering a heavy kick to William's side that sent him crashing to the ground. His head scraped against the floor, blood seeping from his forehead and staining the ground. 0

William was filled with confusion and despair; the more he was suppressed, the more absurd it felt. He struggled desperately to rise, wanting everyone to understand the truth: "Wake up! He's controlling you! You've all been fooled!" He yelled loudly, his hoarse voice echoing like a futile cry in the darkness. 0

"He's a demon!" William roared madly, his voice laced with pain and desperation. "How can you not see it?! James is not human; he’s a demon!" His throat tore with each shout, but no one cared about his words; no one responded to his despair. 0

The students' eyes were filled with disdain and hatred; they could not comprehend William's madness. To them, he was just a lunatic, not a hero trying to reveal the truth. William was pinned firmly to the ground, shouting continuously, but his voice seemed abandoned by this world. 0

Every time he attempted to move his head or hands, he faced even harsher suppression and attacks. He felt as if the students' strength bore down on him like a massive boulder; each struggle felt utterly futile. Completely overwhelmed by this tidal wave of assault and ridicule, he found himself utterly isolated and helpless. He understood that no matter how loudly he shouted, these people would never believe him. 0

"Look clearly! He’s not human! He’s controlling you!" William's voice gradually turned desperate; eventually, it faded into a weak whisper, disappearing amidst this chaotic farce. 0

No one believed him. 0

William lay painfully on the cold floor as fists and feet struck him mercilessly; waves of agony crashed over him one after another. Yet amidst that boundless pain and chaos, he suddenly sensed an unusual gaze upon him, as if something was watching him from the shadows. 0

He gritted his teeth against the excruciating pain coursing through his body, struggling to lift his head in search of the source of that gaze. When his eyes met James's, his heart skipped a beat. James lay on the ground, his face pale, a knife from William embedded in his back, blood seeping out continuously. Yet, a strange smile curled at the corner of James's lips. That smile was cold and sinister, like a victor looking down upon a fallen foe. 0

William's heart sank into despair. He knew all too well that this knife had pierced James's lung; the agony of a punctured lung could never elicit such a smile from anyone. However, James's calm demeanor and the smirk on his lips mocked him, as if everything had been part of a long-planned scheme. 0

"You..." William's voice trembled with fear and shock. His throat felt dry, almost unable to produce sound, yet he forced out a few words: "You used me?" 0

James's gaze remained steady, his smile growing more pronounced. He did not answer but merely stared at William with those icy eyes, as if he were the true master of this farce while William was just a puppet being manipulated. That air of control sent shivers through William's core. 0

In an instant, William's expression shifted; terror and confusion flooded his eyes. His heart raced, and chaos reigned in his mind. At that moment, he realized he was not a hero at all but rather someone whom James had deliberately pushed onto this irreversible path. James's smile felt like a sharp needle, gradually puncturing the last remnants of hope and reason within William. 0

"No..." William whispered, his eyes wide with fear as his entire world began to crumble. "You... you have always been using me... you knew all along..." 0

He tried to rise, to resist, but his body was heavily restrained. His struggles grew weaker, as if his very soul were being stripped away by James at that moment. William fell into utter despair; the knife's intrusion was not an end to James but rather the final act of control over him. 0

"No..." William murmured weakly, his gaze dimming further. He understood that he had been completely toyed with by James. 0

James whispered hoarsely, his voice raspy and faint, yet each word pierced William's heart like a blade: "You fool... thank you... I have ascended again... what does not kill me will only make me stronger..." 0

His tone dripped with cold sarcasm, as if delivering one last humiliation to William. After uttering those words, James's eyelids slowly closed, his entire being seeming to exhaust all its strength as he fell silent into unconsciousness. Yet even as his body succumbed to darkness, James's chilling words echoed relentlessly in William’s mind like an endless nightmare that refused to fade away. 0

Suddenly, hurried footsteps echoed down the corridor as several school medics rushed in, moving quickly and anxiously around James. They urgently assessed his injuries, tearing open his clothing to apply emergency bandages before swiftly lifting him onto a stretcher. In the midst of the chaotic scene, everyone was busy attending to James’s safety. 0

However, throughout it all, William could not utter a single word. His lips trembled but no sound emerged. With several students pinning him firmly to the ground, he could not move; worse still was that his spirit had already shattered completely. His vacant gaze stared blankly in the direction where James had been taken away, leaving nothing but emptiness in his mind. 0

His heart felt as if it were pierced by countless steel needles, each one accompanied by excruciating pain. He had thought he was finally going to liberate everyone, finally become a hero, but the harsh reality had mercilessly brought him down. He had never held the reins of control; everything had been manipulated by James from behind the scenes, even using his anger to push him toward the abyss. 0

William's eyes lost their luster, tears silently streaming from the corners, mingling with the dust and blood on the floor. His heart was already deadened, devoid of anger, filled only with endless emptiness and despair. He knew he had lost completely—not just this battle, but also his last remnants of dignity and hope. 0

The world around him blurred; William felt completely disconnected from reality, allowing the curses and shoves of those around him to wash over him like a tide. He had collapsed, utterly shattered, like a broken puppet with no strength left to piece himself back together. 0
