Hu Ze felt a bit guilty, so he stepped aside. At that moment, everyone turned to look, wondering what was going on with the two standing together.
Rao Jie then said, "I'm going out to buy something. Do you need anything?"
Only then did Hu Ze react, glaring at Rao Jie. After receiving Huang Xiang's instructions, Rao Jie locked her room door right in front of Hu Ze before heading out.
Not wanting to waste any more time, she hurried down the stairs. As she exited the hallway, she spotted a handsome figure leaning against the car door, impatiently checking his phone.
Rao Jie’s heart leaped with joy. After experiencing a rough day, seeing the person she liked filled her with happiness and completely lifted her spirits. She rushed over, and as she got closer, Wu Rong heard her footsteps and looked up to see her.
Just as he was about to scold her for being so slow and making him wait, Rao Jie reached him and threw her arms around him, joyfully calling out, "Wu Rong..."
Simply saying his name made Wu Rong's heart flutter. He couldn't help but hold her tightly, burying his face in her shoulder and taking a deep breath.
Then he said somewhat impatiently, "Missed me, huh? I knew it! Just one day apart and you’re already like this. Why don’t you hurry back and live with me?"
Rao Jie chuckled and looked up at Wu Rong. "No, it's you who missed me! Otherwise, why would you come all the way to my building to surprise me?"
Wu Rong huffed lightly and replied, "If I hadn't come, would you have been alone with some other guy?"
Rao Jie leaned against Wu Rong's embrace. "Yeah, it was uncomfortable. But the elders are old friends; I couldn't just refuse their hospitality. Thankfully, they've accepted that my blind date didn't work out and know I have a university professor boyfriend."
Wu Rong sighed in exasperation. "Can’t believe you had to wait until studying abroad for this to happen. I mean..."
As he spoke, he looked down at Rao Jie. At that moment, she was gazing up at him with sparkling eyes; her expression made her feelings clear.
Unable to resist any longer, as Rao Jie tugged at Wu Rong's tie, he wrapped his arms around her waist and lifted her slightly off the ground. Their lips met in a kiss.
Rao Jie craved Wu Rong's closeness just as much as he desired hers. After a brief kiss that alleviated her longing, she gently pushed him away. They were still in the neighborhood where people could pass by; although she wasn't afraid of being seen, it still felt a bit embarrassing.
Wu Rong didn't want to force anything, but just as he was about to speak, he noticed a man's figure appearing behind Rao Jie, at the entrance of their building's hallway. The man was glaring at them with a fierce expression, clearly recognizing Rao Jie and disapproving of their actions. Wu Rong quickly deduced the man's identity; seeing this wild man still hung up on his Rao Jie was truly annoying.
If he wanted to watch, then let him watch to his heart's content.
Without caring about what Rao Jie was saying, Wu Rong scooped her up again and, right in front of Hu Ze, leaned in for a deep kiss. Rao Jie, taken by surprise and slightly wanting to resist, found herself pressed against the car door by Wu Rong, making the kiss charged with intensity.
Not far away, Hu Ze watched in disbelief, ready to step in and interrupt them. But before he could move, Wu Rong opened the car door, shoved Rao Jie inside, and slammed the door shut.
