But how could such a wonderful person as Rao Jie let go?
She was unwilling to let go, and naturally, there was no reason to keep Wu Rong waiting.
After all, she had intertwined her future life plans with him.
This was her subconscious telling her that she wanted to spend her life with him.
Suddenly, Rao Jie had an epiphany; she understood.
If Wu Rong's decision was one that he had pondered over for a long time,
then she hoped to make a decision about her life based on this momentary impulse.
Who said that a moment of impulse must be wrong?
Sometimes, she simply lacked the courage to face an unknown future.
And she believed that Wu Rong would hold her hand and lead her forward, giving her all the courage she needed.
So what reason did she have to refuse?
Under Wu Rong's determined gaze,
Rao Jie nodded.
Wu Rong's expression seemed to momentarily empty.
He raised an eyebrow slightly, his voice unexpectedly hoarse.
"You agreed."
As Rao Jie nodded again, tears uncontrollably streamed down her cheeks, her eyes suddenly red.
"Yes, I want to marry you. I... I want to marry you; I want to be with you forever."
Rao Jie knew that her face was flushed and her mind was in a haze.
But after saying it, her heart suddenly felt light, as if it had floated up to the clouds, relaxed.
Wu Rong couldn't help but laugh, his eyes slightly reddened as he embraced Rao Jie, saying, "I really should have told you this tomorrow morning."
"Huh?" Rao Jie asked, excitement mixed with confusion.
Wu Rong smiled and said, "Maybe if you impulsively agreed then, we could head straight to the civil affairs bureau together. Once we get the certificate, it would be too late for you to regret it. What I'm worried about now is that you'll go back and after a night of contemplation, you'll hesitate."
Rao Jie couldn't help but chuckle, "Maybe so!"
Wu Rong immediately tightened his embrace around Rao Jie and said, "Should I knock you out now, so we can just take the documents and go get the marriage certificate tomorrow morning?"
Rao Jie laughed even more joyfully and gently kissed Wu Rong's tense cheek, realizing he was also nervous. "No need. If I have second thoughts, just remind me of what you said earlier, and I will definitely agree again because I will remember this overwhelming feeling of happiness."
Wu Rong added, "What if your parents oppose it?"
Rao Jie playfully replied, "I'll just sneak out the Household Registration Book, and we can go ahead without telling them."
Wu Rong chuckled softly, "What a coincidence, that's exactly my plan too. But my parents will definitely love you."
Rao Jie couldn't help but snuggle against Wu Rong, saying, "It's so wonderful! Are we really going to get the certificate tomorrow?"
Wu Rong affirmed, "Yes, once you agree, there's no turning back. Tomorrow morning we'll get the certificate, and then we'll be a legal couple. After that, we'll go meet your parents together, and I'll help you move."
Rao Jie teased, "It feels a bit like eloping?"
Wu Rong responded immediately, "Marriage is fundamentally about the two of us. As long as we're willing, that's all that matters."
Rao Jie could already imagine Wu Rong confidently holding her hand as they presented their marriage certificate to her future in-laws. She envisioned the scene spiraling out of control as he insisted on taking her away. But Rao Jie didn't want to think about that anymore.
If they were going to be impulsive, they might as well go all the way.
"I'm so happy! Can I tell Wu Xin and Wei Qian?" Rao Jie couldn't contain her excitement to share her joy.
