“Sir, the plane is about to land. Please fasten your seatbelt.” The flight attendant's melodious voice floated over, but the man in the aisle remained unmoved.
The flight attendant gently nudged him, and only then did he pull off his eye mask, glaring at her with a sullen expression.
Being disturbed from sleep felt terrible, especially since he hadn’t slept for two consecutive days! Two whole days!
Rofeide recalled the harrowing experiences of the past few days and nearly let slip a few sharp words to this smiling flight attendant.
The damn author had fled to England to avoid submitting his work, leaving him to handle the overseas assignments. But that wasn't even the main issue; his exhausted body had to bring gifts back for that heartless bunch in the Editorial Department. It was simply intolerable!
He was always cold-hearted and felt no guilt about rejecting that group of jerks. What was infuriating was that his “cruelty” paled in comparison to that of the Chief Editor.
After exchanging glares with the Chief Editor for several minutes, Rofeide was provoked by the contemptuous smile that seemed to say, “If you can’t even handle this small matter, then I won’t force you.”
After all, he was still young and full of vigor. Later on, Rofeide regretted his actions; why had he bothered to argue with that cold-hearted guy?
It left him exhausted from gathering materials and carrying a large bag of scones back home. He must have hit his head somewhere!
“Miss, here’s the coffee you requested.” The cheerful flight attendant ignored Rofeide’s icy demeanor and directed her smile at the girl beside him who was still half-asleep.
“Um, thank you…” The girl yawned, her mouth forming a diamond shape as she reached out for the coffee cup. Just as Rofeide was trying to recognize her familiar voice, he was jolted awake by the sudden splash of hot coffee on his head. He shouted, “Shit!” The girl who had been startled awake glared back at him with wide eyes.
“It’s you?!” They both exclaimed in surprise.
