The weather has been strange lately; it seems to rain almost every day. Since last Thursday, the rain has been intermittent, and now, without warning, it has started to drizzle again. Although the rain is light, just a fine mist, the constant downpour is enough to wear anyone down. 0

Sang Yu used to love rainy days. She enjoyed curling up on the sofa with snacks, watching television, and indulging in hot pot during mealtimes. It was her idea of pure bliss. It's safe to say that calling her a little foodie would be an understatement. However, after several days without sunshine, Sang Yu began to long for the sun to come out and do its job. Even her blankets felt damp at night, making sleep uncomfortable. 0

At Yun Cheng Experimental Primary School, it was afternoon. When would this dreadful weather end? The incessant rain was truly irritating. Wu Laoshi had just finished a class and wandered into the staff room, seemingly questioning everyone and no one at the same time. 0

"Wu Laoshi," someone suggested playfully, "maybe you should go home and ask your mother to light some incense for the Jade Emperor. Ask him when the Old Dragon King will take a break; he’s been working nonstop at his age." 0

In the staff room, everyone knew that Wu Laoshi's mother maintained an altar at home where she prayed to the deities on the first and fifteenth of each month. 0

"Sure! I'll go home and relay our requests to her," Wu Laoshi chuckled in response. 0

At thirty-eight years old with over a decade of teaching experience, he was considered one of the veteran teachers in their staff room. His good-natured personality allowed him to get along well with younger teachers, making him a favorite among both colleagues and students. 0

Hearing their banter, other teachers couldn't help but laugh. 0

Wu Laoshi felt somewhat helpless; as a public school teacher who embraced materialistic education, he had a superstitious Old Mother at home. It was quite a contradiction. But what could he do? She was his mother, and while he held opposing views, his opinions hardly mattered. 0

Clearly, they did not. 0

Under his mother's long-standing influence, he found himself at the bottom of their household hierarchy—his pet dog was even more favored than he was. Did he dare voice any dissent? 0

On the other side of the staff room, Sang Yu sighed as she looked at two students in front of her—especially at Lu Youzhe. She felt a mix of frustration and disappointment towards him. This child was intelligent; he consistently ranked first in exams. However, he was also incredibly mischievous and involved in every class brawl. It made her feel both exasperated and affectionate toward him. This was already the fourth incident this semester; she felt her temper nearing its breaking point. 0

Sitting in her chair with her arms crossed tightly over her chest, Sang Yu said nothing but fixed her gaze intently on the two students before her as she waited for their parents to arrive. 0

Lu Youzhe and He Qingrui felt uneasy under their gentle homeroom teacher's stare. They exchanged furtive glances but dared not speak a word. Lu Youzhe realized that this time Teacher Sang was genuinely upset, so he fell silent for once. 0

After all, he was just an eight-year-old child. No matter how mischievous he was, he still feared the teacher. 0

Knock, knock, knock. 0

Everyone instinctively looked up at the door when they heard the knocking sound. There stood a man in a deep blue suit, holding an umbrella. The chatter in the office instantly quieted down. 0

How to describe this man? 0

Well, he looked like he had stepped right out of a comic book—a handsome figure. Strands of hair fell across his forehead, framing his charming peach blossom eyes. His thick eyebrows were partially hidden by the tousled locks, adding to his allure. 0
