After finishing dinner, Lu Jingzhi took the initiative to wash the dishes. Sang Yu had said she would come and help later, but Lu Jingzhi insisted on doing it himself, so Sang Yu went along with him.
"Have a glass of water," Sang Yu said as Lu Jingzhi finished washing the dishes and came out. She poured him a glass and then sat down on the edge of the bed.
"Why are you sitting so far away? Afraid I might eat you?" Lu Jingzhi complained about Sang Yu sitting at such a distance from him.
"It's just that this place isn't very spacious, is it? The sofa is small, and you take up most of it. Where else could I sit?" he thought to himself.
Seeing Sang Yu sitting still on the bed, he stood up and walked over to her. Sang Yu stared blankly as Lu Jingzhi approached and sat down beside her.
"Baby, the trial period should be over by now. What do you think? Will you be my girlfriend?"
Sang Yu looked into Lu Jingzhi's eyes. This was a man she had liked for ten years, ever since their first year of high school. She had thought they would never be together again, yet here they were.
"This is the last time!" Sang Yu told herself. If they broke up again, she would really have to give up.
"Are you nervous?" Lu Jingzhi asked. Just look at his hands—clenched tightly, veins bulging; it was clear he wasn't calm.
When he heard her response, the joy in Lu Jingzhi's heart was indescribable. He knew Sang Yu still liked him, but he wasn't sure if she would agree. He held her tightly and said, "Thank you for giving me this chance. This time, I won't let you down."
After spending so many days together, how could he not notice Sang Yu's unease? It was all his fault for being reckless in the past and doing foolish things. This time, he definitely wouldn't let go.
"I'm so happy," Lu Jingzhi said as he pulled Sang Yu onto his lap. With that, he kissed her soft lips. This time, he showered her with unprecedented tenderness; their lips and tongues intertwined passionately, and Sang Yu gradually lost herself in it.
Time seemed to fly by until Lu Jingzhi finally released her. A few silvery strands hung between their lips. At that moment, Sang Yu's eyes were dazed, her cheeks flushed red. Seeing this made Lu Jingzhi want to claim her right there and then. He took a deep breath to suppress those wicked thoughts but couldn't resist leaning down to kiss her again—again and again.
Sang Yu finally couldn't take it anymore; she turned her face away and pushed against Lu Jingzhi, trying to keep him at bay. "Are you done yet? My face is all wet now; it feels like I've been licked by a dog."
"Not done! It's not easy to have finally gotten a girlfriend; what's wrong with kissing her? God knows how hard it's been for me to just look without touching during this time."
"Uh, do you want to go home? If you don't leave now, you'll end up staying all night," Sang Yu said, trying to urge him to go. She felt that if he stayed any longer, he might kiss her all night long.
Lu Jingzhi glanced at the clock—it wasn't even eight yet. "Baby, are you really trying to kick me out?"
"No! I'm just a bit tired today and want to rest early," Sang Yu replied somewhat sheepishly.
"If you're tired, just sleep. I'm not leaving tonight."
"Not leaving?!"
"Nope! I'm staying. It’ll be harder to get home in the morning anyway. I plan to take you to work tomorrow; if I leave now and come back later, it'll waste too much time."
With just the two of them alone together as boyfriend and girlfriend now, wasn’t that a bit unsafe?
Aren't you tired? Go to sleep. Lu Jingzhi picked Sang Yu up and carried her to bed. He then lay down beside her, his arm draped across Sang Yu's waist.
