After the two of them reached the third floor, Sang Yu noticed that there were no other people around, just three handsome men and two beautiful women. The sight of such attractive individuals made her eyes light up; who wouldn't like good-looking people? They were simply a feast for the eyes.
As soon as these people saw them enter, they paused their activities and turned to look at the newcomers. Being the center of attention made Sang Yu, who had a bit of social anxiety, feel shy. Unconsciously, she tightened her grip on Lu Jingzhi's arm. He noticed her nervousness and offered her a reassuring smile, letting her know that everything was fine and that they were all easy to get along with. He then held her hand tightly, their fingers interlocking, which gradually helped Sang Yu relax.
"Hey! The beauty has arrived! Long time no see!" It was An Yu, the owner of the hot pot restaurant. Sang Yu recognized him from their previous encounters and felt somewhat familiar with him.
Sang Yu smiled back at An Yu as a form of greeting. To be honest, even though An Yu was always warm and welcoming whenever he saw her, she really didn't know how to interact with someone so enthusiastic.
Lu Jingzhi pushed An Yu aside in annoyance. "Just talk normally; why are you getting so close to my Bao'er?"
"Hey, Lao Lu, I'm talking to your sister-in-law! Why are you pushing me?" Lu Jingzhi ignored him, but Sang Yu's face flushed at the mention of "sister-in-law."
"Come here, Bao'er. Let me introduce you. This is Xie Xuan; he owns this mountain villa. This is Qi Yan Che, and this is his girlfriend Bai Anran. And this lovely lady is Chen Ruoying, who is Xie Xuan's girlfriend."
Upon hearing Lu Jingzhi refer to Sang Yu as "Bao'er," everyone couldn't help but feel a bit mushy inside. However, since Sang Yu was present, they refrained from teasing him.
"I heard that Lu Jingzhi got himself a girlfriend; I was curious about who managed to win him over. Seeing you now, it makes sense—such a beautiful girl! No wonder Lao Lu fell for you," said Chen Ruoying.
Chen Ruoying had a good first impression of Sang Yu; she seemed like a soft-spoken and clean girl. A girl like her was indeed a catch for someone like Lu Jingzhi.
"I should be older than you; just call me Sister Ruoying. An Ran is probably younger than you; she's still in school and is in her senior year," Chen Ruoying said while holding Sang Yu's hand.
Sang Yu smiled and nodded at Bai Anran, relieved that Chen Ruoying had solved her dilemma about how to address everyone.
"Sister Ruoying, An Ran, hello."
"Sister Sangyu! How did you end up with Lu Jingzhi? That guy only has looks going for him; what else does he have? How about I introduce someone better for you?" In Bai Anran's eyes, Lu Jingzhi was unreliable; he had bullied her since childhood.
Bai Anran and Lu Jingzhi were relatives; their grandfathers were brothers. Although Lu Jingzhi was a few years older than Bai Anran, they had never gotten along well and often clashed whenever they met.
"Bai Anran! Not only do you not call me 'brother,' but you're also trying to steal my girl right in front of me? You've got some nerve!" Lu Jingzhi grabbed Bai Anran by the collar and spun her around. To him, her small stature barely registered.
"Lu Jingzhi! Let go! Be careful; I’ll tell our cousin that you're bullying me!" Bai Anran reached out to grab Lu Jingzhi back, but unfortunately, her arms were too short.
"Hey! You're trying to steal my girl right in front of me and still dare to threaten me with telling my mom? Where do you get the confidence that she'll help you?" Bai Anran hadn't matured at all; she still loved to complain just like when they were kids. Besides, he wasn't worried about her telling on him—his mother was currently eager to find him a wife. If she found out that this girl was introducing boyfriends to his girlfriend, there would be no escaping a lecture for her.
Bai Anran was just saying it; she wouldn't actually tell on him because she knew this situation wasn't right—her cousin definitely wouldn't side with her.
Sang Yu watched the playful banter between the two in surprise; they seemed quite familiar with each other.
"Don't be surprised; they can't stop bickering every time they meet," Chen Ruoying explained when she noticed Sang Yu's confusion.
Sang Yu glanced at the others around them; everyone appeared unfazed by the antics unfolding before them.
Then Chen Ruoying explained the relationship between the two of them to Sang Yu, who finally realized that these two were actually relatives. In the end, it was Qi Yan Che who rescued Bai Anran.
