It's over! Lu Jingzhi thought in despair. How could he have forgotten about his big brother? With his brother's possessiveness, he feared his injuries might worsen.
"No need, big brother. Mom has already helped me quite a bit; there's no need for more." Lu Jingzhi pleaded desperately, while An Qian couldn't help but laugh at his predicament.
"Really no need?"
"No need! Absolutely not! I can't let my big brother touch my face."
"Alright then, how about we talk about how to go back?" Lu Fu sat on the nearby sofa, with Lu Mu sitting closely beside him and Lu Jingmo next to his wife, An Qian.
Lu Jingzhi shifted nervously and glanced at his father before hesitantly speaking up: "Actually, I didn't get hurt from fighting; it was... it was my girlfriend's dad who hit me."
Silence! It was too quiet!
Lu Jingmo stroked his chin and said, "If I heard correctly, you're saying you got this beaten-up look from your father-in-law?"
"Father-in-law? You have a girlfriend?!" Lu Mu exclaimed in shock. How did she not know anything about this? When did you start dating?
"It hasn't been long; just recently."
Lu Mu looked at the others, who all shook their heads in confusion.
"Why did your father-in-law hit you? Did you get your girlfriend pregnant?" Lu Mu suddenly stood up from the sofa.
"What? No!" Lu Jingzhi shook his head vigorously. He hadn't even taken that final step with his girlfriend yet; how could she be pregnant?
"Then did you cheat and get caught?" Lu Mu glared at Lu Jingzhi as the thought crossed her mind.
Lu Jingzhi exclaimed in disbelief: "Huh? How would he know if he cheated?" Looking at everyone's expressions made him feel like they were ready to devour him whole.
"Oh dear! What is it? Stop guessing, everyone. I'm not pregnant, and there's been no cheating."
Why is that? Everyone is puzzled. What on earth did Lu Jingzhi do to earn such hatred? Just look at that face; it seems he’s in deep trouble.
Speaking of which, Lu Jingzhi feels embarrassed, but he can't keep quiet either; after all, he’s counting on his parents to step in.
