The tremors from the Chihwen Dagger Sheath made my hands go numb. As Chen Xing pulled me toward the Southeast rock wall, the Nine Jade Corpse suddenly exploded, scattering bone fragments everywhere. Dark brown tentacles wove a net in the boiling river water. I thrust a shard of the Golden Hairpin into the corner of the Taotie Pattern Jade Bi, and the sharp Stardust of the Guifei Shoes ignited in the water, burning with Azure Ghost Fire.
"Hold your breath!" Chen Xing's shout was torn apart by the rushing water. The Zi Qi spilling from the crack in the rock wall collided with the Ghost Fire, causing the entire Underground River to suddenly invert. My back slammed against the Riverbed, and countless fingers carved from white jade emerged from the cracked gaps, each fingertip adorned with the Qintianjian's specially crafted Twenty-Eight Constellation Finger.
Chen Xing broke off some of the Jade Fingers and stuffed them into the Sandalwood Medicine Box; those severed fingers suddenly emitted an Infant’s Cry. I pressed down on my bleeding Right Arm wound, and as the Blood Pearl fell into the Zi Qi, an illusion from One Hundred Years Ago slithered into my eyes like a venomous snake—on the Gilded Silver Altar, the National Master thrust a Chiw Tail Whisk toward a swaddled infant.
"With seven emotions as locks and six desires as keys." The old emperor's voice was laced with blood. The baby girl in his arms had her brow pierced by the Golden Hairpin, extracting a Blood Pearl. I watched as the Blood Pearl rolled into the groove of the Phoenix Hairpin, suddenly realizing that the Bu Yao in the consort's hair this morning was clearly this Blood-Soaked Weapon.
The illusion shattered with the sound of arrows piercing through the air. Prince Jing's Darksteel Arrowhead lodged itself in the rock wall beside my ear, its Arrow Tail and Red Feathers reflecting off the Riverbed's glow, revealing more Jade Corpses deep within the rock crevices. The Beidou Hole on their crowns was seeping Stardust, resonating with what I had collected over three days at the Cold Palace Well Bottom.
"Lord Ye has quite a skill," Prince Jing's voice came from above me as he used his Ceremonial Sword to lift up Veteran Coroner's Wine Gourd. "He even prepared Fengdu Awakening Incense." I clenched tightly onto the Blood Jade fragments hidden in my sleeve.
As Veteran Coroner caught Zi Qi with his wine gourd, I distinctly saw a Spiderweb Pattern emerge on his nape, identical to that of a Jade Figurine. Chen Xing suddenly pressed his fingers against my lower back’s Mingmen point; a burning sensation made me see clearly that behind Prince Jing stood Imperial Guards—all bound by Qintianjian's specially crafted Beidou Star Chain.
The moment Soul-Awakening Incense was lit, Chief Minister’s right hand, marked with Corpse Spots, suddenly transformed into jade. A translucent soul appeared within Zi Yan, gnawing on its own fingers while trapped in a Jade Palm. Chen Xing threw a copper coin to shatter the Jade Palm, and splintered shards of Shattered Jade turned into Blood Characters floating in midair—exactly like the Chant from three days ago at Cold Palace Dry Well.
"Mars Guards the Heart, Nine Stars Aligned." As I uttered those last two words, Prince Jing’s arrow suddenly changed direction and shot toward the Purple Mist.
In the moment of immersion, it felt as if time and space were torn apart, and I saw my younger self crouched in the corner of the Cold Palace, drawing a Star Map on the ground with a Golden Hairpin dipped in black blood.
"My Sister said that when Mars shines..."
The childlike voice was abruptly cut off by a thunderous roar.
From the depths of the rift, a hand carved from white jade reached out, its fingertips tracing the very pattern found on the tips of the Consort's shoes this morning.
As I swung my blade toward that hand, the sound of Nuo Opera bells suddenly echoed through the chaotic flow of time and space. The figure of the National Master solidified amidst the purple mist, holding a piece of Twin Blood Jade in each hand.
The jade in his left hand was as clear as the moonlight, while the one in his right glimmered with a dark hue reminiscent of Corpse Spot.
Both pieces of Jade Heart simultaneously revealed my face—one splattered with black blood from the Cold Palace Well Bottom, while the other eerily overlapped with the features of the Altar Maiden.
Chen Xing suddenly coughed up blood flecked with gold dust, and a Blood Pearl fell to the ground, forming an omen.
As he pulled me toward the brightest star position, I heard the Jade Corpses chanting in unison: "Beidou is doomed, Nan Dou..."
The sound of an Ice Blade slicing through the air drowned out the latter part of their chant.
When my pupils adjusted to the bright light, I discovered that a Chihwen Knife was embedded at the position of the Northern Dipper Ninth Star—where there should have been the tomb of the Late Emperor's Ninth Son—now oozing thick, tar-like Stardust, entwined with countless clawing Jade Fingers.
The illusion of the National Master split into two amidst the chaos.
The left half pointed a clear Blood Jade at my forehead, while the right half shoved a dark Blood Jade into Prince Jing's hands.
Amidst the piercing shriek of distorted time and space, I heard two versions of myself conversing—one voice tinged with the mossy scent from the Cold Palace Well Bottom, while another burned with the heat of altar Stardust.
"You are indeed the split soul."
"No, you are merely a defective piece trapped within Blood Jade."
Chen Xing suddenly bit his tongue and sprayed forth Blood Mist, which coalesced into chains binding Twin Blood Jade amidst the chaos.
Just as my fingertips were about to touch Jade Heart, Prince Jing's arrow once again sliced through space—this time aimed directly at the core of chaos, at a Jade Tablet inscribed with "Yongchang Year Three."
