The recording location for the variety show was Hong City, a city in the southern region. Even though it was almost December, the weather there remained quite warm.
Before heading out, Yu Chan took her shopping, changed her hairstyle, dyed her hair, bought several outfits, and even coordinated some accessories for her. Yu Chan reminded her that since she was going to be on a show, she needed to pay attention to her appearance and couldn't just slack off like before. Wu Yunyun took this to heart and set off for Hong City alone.
Upon arrival, the production team's representative, A Yang, met her and took her to the hotel where she would be staying. During the car ride, A Yang briefly explained the upcoming schedule and mentioned that they would arrange for someone to go on a date with her the next day. Hearing this, Wu Yunyun was shocked. "So soon? I haven't even gotten to know them yet!"
"That's how we create show effects," A Yang replied. "And with Lian Zong, the main focus is on romance; friendship comes second."
"Then who will I be meeting tomorrow?" Wu Yunyun asked.
"It's not confirmed yet; the guys will draw lots to see who gets paired with you."
"Wow," Wu Yunyun exclaimed, her mouth agape. After a moment, she added, "That sounds pretty interesting."
The next morning at eight o'clock, a dedicated makeup artist would come to do her makeup. "Also," A Yang continued, "we've prepared clothes for you here, so you don't need to worry too much." Zhou Liaosheng had previously told her that whoever came on the show must be treated specially and insisted that she would definitely contribute to the show's ratings. He spoke so seriously about it and even referenced his reputation in the industry; how could she not take it seriously?
However, looking at how simply she was dressed, there didn’t seem to be anything particularly eye-catching about her. She couldn't help but start feeling excited about what surprises she might bring to the show.
Early the next morning, Wu Yunyun set her alarm clock. After a quick wash-up, she went downstairs for breakfast. After waiting a while upon returning, the makeup team from the production arrived. They chose a shoulder-baring long dress for her and considering that she hadn't worn high heels often before, they selected a pair of low-heeled sandals instead. Once everything was finished, Wu Yunyun looked at herself in the mirror and felt somewhat unfamiliar with her reflection. Indeed, makeup techniques in the twenty-first century were comparable to cosmetic surgery. Her previously plain features now appeared more refined and delicate.
After finishing her makeup, the production team took her to Red City National Forest Park. Once they arrived and got out of the car, Wu Yunyun saw a familiar face in front of a tent—it was Kong Run.
Wu Yunyun never expected that after praising him just moments ago, she would run into him here today. A Yang brought Wu Yunyun in front of Kong Run and said, "This is the female guest we have today, her name is Wu Yunyun. You’re quite lucky, Little Run."
Kong Run smiled at A Yang and replied, "Come on, don't tease me." He then turned to Wu Yunyun and formally extended his hand. "Wu Yunyun, hello, I’m Kong Run."
"I know you, Teacher Kong," she responded.
"Yes." Kong Run pointed to the tent and said, "I set this up specially. What do you think?"
Wu Yunyun looked at the warm yellow tent, which was furnished with a fluffy blanket. There were many snacks laid out on the blanket, along with a small speaker playing music and a guitar. It was truly charming.
She smiled back at him and said, "You’ve put in a lot of thought, Teacher Kong."
In the brief moments they exchanged words, the cameras on site were already set up. Wu Yunyun was genuinely experiencing the moment and realized that she was really about to go on a date in front of everyone.
