Five years after Wu Yunyun and Gu Si Yi got married, Kuang Xiaole posted a Weibo message announcing an offline book signing event in Teikyo. She was particularly excited and shared the good news with Gu Si Yi.
Upon hearing this, Gu Si Yi agreed, saying, "We should meet her; after all, she played a part in bringing us together." It was through Kuang Xiaole that Gu Si Yi learned about the type of man Wu Yunyun liked. Later on, he had read several of her books and noticed that the male protagonists all shared similar character traits.
"Perfect! We can each take a book and ask Big Hug for her signature," he suggested. "Sounds great!" Wu Yunyun replied. The copy of the book that Gu Si Yi kept in his study was placed right in the center, and even after all these years, it had become somewhat worn.
Wu Yunyun also thought about Gu Si Yi's book and teased him, "If Big Hug sees that you've made notes in your copy, she would surely be pleased." When Wu Yunyun had flipped through that novel with notes, she had been particularly impressed. What stood out most in her memory was the part where Big Hug described how a female relative offered to make red sugar ginger tea for her during her period; it was underlined and even folded over.
After reading that, she had laughed at him, saying that she didn't experience any pain during her period. Gu Si Yi held her close and replied, "Just in case." He didn't want her to feel distressed over anything.
On the day of the book signing event, it rained in Teikyo. The venue was a library located in the city center. Due to traffic congestion, Wu Yunyun and Gu Si Yi arrived as attendees were starting to enter.
Among the crowd, about ninety percent were women, while most of the men were there accompanying their girlfriends. After finding their seats and settling down, they waited for a while until Kuang Xiaole made her entrance.
The two listened attentively to the host's introduction. When Wu Yunyun saw Big Hug in person, her eyes widened in surprise. She hadn't expected the author to have such a lovely voice and be so beautiful. Being from the south, Big Hug occasionally mixed in a phrase or two of Cantonese while speaking, which made her seem even more charming. She concluded by wishing everyone prosperity and good fortune.
Wu Yunyun looked at her, her eyes sparkling like little stars. She felt truly happy to have the chance to meet Big Hug in person.
About an hour and a half later, it was time for Big Hug's signing session. Gu Si Yi and Wu Yunyun each held a book and stood in line.
As they got closer to Big Hug, Wu Yunyun's heart raced with excitement. After waiting, she gazed into Big Hug's eyes and sincerely said, "Big Hug, I’m really happy to meet you. I’ve read all your works, and my favorite is definitely 'Fake S: The Paranoid Professor Turns into a Wolf.' Because of this book, my current husband became a University Professor."
Kuang Xiaole adjusted his glasses, surprised that his work had such a significant impact. "This book was written during my university days; it’s considered my debut work. I never imagined someone would turn into Fu Zhi Ting because of it. Seeing him here, for a moment, I felt like the male lead from my book had come to life."
Back then, she had used the success of this book to buy an apartment in the center of Nan Cheng. She would never forget the male lead from her story.
"Big Hug, could you please sign your name here?" Wu Yunyun asked carefully.
"Of course." Kuang Xiaole took the two yellowing books and happily wrote his name in them. He neatly added his blessing: "Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness together."
After finishing, he stood up and handed the books back to them. "Would you like to take a photo with me?" Kuang Xiaole asked.
"Really? Can we?" Wu Yunyun exclaimed excitedly, bouncing on her feet.
"Of course."
So, Wu Yunyun, Gu Si Yi, and Kuang Xiaole took a group photo together. A fan with a camera captured the moment, looking at Wu Yunyun with envy in her eyes.
An idea popped into her mind: she wanted to edit that touching scene and share it online for all her friends to see. Just moments ago, she noticed how that man’s gaze was solely focused on his wife, completely ignoring everyone else around them. She couldn’t help but think how nice it would be if a handsome guy looked at her with such devotion.
On the way back, Wu Yunyun shared with Gu Si Yi, "I’m really so happy! I never expected that my favorite author, Big Hug, would be such a warm person."
Heaven, I feel so fulfilled now. It's truly wonderful to have you.
Gu Si Yi smiled and affectionately ruffled her hair, calling her a little fool.
Two days later, Wu Yunyun came across a video edited by fans online, which had even been shared by Kuang Xiaole and Big Hug.
Excitedly, Wu Yunyun held the video up in front of Gu Si Yi. "I didn't expect any fans to record what happened that day! I just realized that all your attention was on me."
"You're my wife; if I don't watch you, who else would I look at?" Gu Si Yi watched the video but felt indifferent about it.
"Do you like it? If you don't, I can have it taken down."
"I like it! I like it a lot. Nowadays, many young people have little hope for love; we can be a positive example for them."
"Do you really have that much confidence in me?" Gu Si Yi appreciated her words.
"Of course! Because you're Gu Si Yi!" Wu Yunyun leaned against him, showering him with compliments. "Gu Si Yi, you're the best husband in the world!"
The corners of Gu Si Yi's mouth deepened into a smile. "Hmm, I'll keep working hard."
Wu Yunyun kissed him gently. "You're already doing great."
"Then I'll continue to maintain it."
"Good job, dear!" Wu Yunyun smiled and nestled in his embrace.
