Time flew by quickly as the sun completely set, leaving only the starry sky and the moon above. The Azure Dragon and Vermilion Bird, shrouded in dark clouds, disappeared during Jin Li's teaching session.
"Radiant Kirin, GO!"
Nan Liu Jing, now skilled in his practice, launched his Battle Gyro once more. The speed of his Launcher was noticeably faster, and he no longer experienced any gliding issues.
Seeing that Nan Liu Jing had made significant progress, Jin Li felt quite satisfied. This was his first time being a teacher, especially to someone older than himself, which was unprecedented. Moreover, witnessing his student successfully launch the Battle Gyro filled him with a sense of accomplishment.
"Very good, Brother Nan. You are now a qualified Tornado Master. I need to go into battle soon to awaken the Silverfang Fierce Tiger. This is a great era; we can't fall behind. Who knows, somewhere out there, another Tornado Master might have already gained the favor of a Sacred Beast and awakened one."
Upon hearing Jin Li's words, Nan Liu Jing felt hesitant to stop him and even entertained the thought of following along. After all, he hadn't forgotten the conditions for awakening the Radiant Kirin—winning fifty consecutive matches would broaden his horizons and be beneficial as long as he didn't develop unrealistic expectations.
"Jin Li, can I come along to watch?"
Jin Li did not hesitate and looked at Nan Liu Jing in surprise. "Of course! Brother Nan, why would you even ask? As a newcomer, you should definitely observe other Tornado Masters in battle to gain experience."
"You don't think I'm going to leave you here while I go alone, do you?"
Seeing Nan Liu Jing awkwardly biting his lip, Jin Li displayed an exasperated expression. "That’s impossible! I'm only ten years old; it's nighttime now. Without an adult accompanying us, we wouldn't even be allowed into the Battle Top Club."
"Besides, Brother Nan, you're my student now. What kind of teacher would abandon their student?"
Hearing this from Jin Li, Nan Liu Jing put away his Gyroscope and walked over with a smile. "Don't mind it; just consider it me zoning out for a moment. Where is this Battle Top Club you mentioned? I'll take you inside."
After about ten minutes, standing before an enormous building illuminated by bright lights with people bustling around, Nan Liu Jing began to grasp the popularity of Gyroscopes in this world. It was clearly the number one sport globally, enjoyed by people of all ages.
"Hello! Are you here for a match? Is there an adult accompanying you?" Jin Li approached the front desk where a staff member greeted them with a smile.
Seeing this situation unfold, Nan Liu Jing hurriedly ran over to Jin Li's side and spoke to the staff member. "Me! Me! I’m his brother; he wants to compete. Can we arrange it quickly?"
"Please have the adult fill out some forms with basic information about the child and yourself. The fee is 500 yuan."
Jin Li naturally took the two forms handed over by the staff member and paid the 500 yuan without hesitation.
"Do you have an extra Tornado Master information form? My brother needs one; he fell behind due to his studies."
The staff member nodded and pulled out another form from the front desk to hand it to Jin Li.
"Here you go, Brother Nan. This is the form—one is for parent information and one is for Tornado Master registration. Registering as a Tornado Master is free of charge."
It seemed that not only was this sport the number one activity in the world, but it also received government support.
As Nan Liu Jing marveled at this fact, he took the two forms from Jin Li and filled them out just like him. After completing them and handing them back to the front desk, Jin Li and Nan Liu Jing sat down on chairs in the lobby to wait for their registration to be processed.
Before long, a middle-aged man hurriedly approached the front desk, exchanged a few words, and then walked towards them.
“Jin Li, it seems your strength has caught the attention of the higher-ups here,” he remarked.
“I’m used to it,” Jin Li replied, his tone clearly stifling Nan Liu Jing’s teasing expression.
It was indeed self-defeating for her to joke about it; after all, a ten-year-old Tornado Master was just one step away from awakening a Sacred Beast. Before the Azure Dragon and Vermilion Bird awakened, he was among the elite of this world, even if he had now fallen to the second tier.
As they spoke, the middle-aged man reached them. “Hello, are you Mr. Jin Li, known as the Unstoppable Tiger of White Tiger's Fang?”
“Greetings, I am Gui Zhejie, the owner of this club. How may I assist you?”
Jin Li wasted no time and directly stated his request: “Are there any Tornado Masters here with strength similar to mine?”
“And help me find opponents for my brother,” he added.
“Mr. Jin Li, this may take some time. I will need to leverage your reputation; after all, you know that Tornado Masters of your caliber don’t stay in clubs for long.”
Jin Li understood Gui Zhejie’s predicament and nodded in agreement to wait. As for finding opponents for the Newbie Spinner, there were plenty available without needing to ask further.
“Then please follow him; he will help you find suitable opponents,” Gui Zhejie instructed.
Nan Liu Jing didn’t hesitate either; after all, he was benefiting from Jin Li’s status as a high-ranking Tornado Master. He promptly followed the guide that Gui Zhejie had summoned and nodded back at Jin Li before leaving.
“Brother Nan, wait for me here after the battle,” Jin Li called out.
“Sure thing.” With that, Nan Liu Jing left without looking back. Jin Li crossed his arms and closed his eyes to rest. He believed that respect for opponents of equal strength was essential; giving it his all was how he understood respect.
Following behind the guide, Nan Liu Jing was clearly in good spirits; after all, it was almost time to showcase his success.
“Sir, how many matches would you like to choose? For the Newbie Spinner, I recommend three matches; this way you can accumulate practical experience without overexerting yourself.”
“Please don’t misunderstand; our rules are similar to formal competitions—best two out of three—which can consume a lot of energy,” the guide explained.
Nan Liu Jing observed the guide’s explanation without pressing him further; given that the Newbie Spinner lacked great endurance, any additional comments might lead to adverse reactions.
“We’ve arrived; please hold on a moment.” With that, the guide left.
Waiting against the wall by Room 6 for newcomers, Nan Liu Jing passed about three minutes before the guide returned with a young boy who appeared to be around Jin Li’s age. This prompted Nan Liu Jing to unconsciously activate his Data Insight Eye while gaining a deeper understanding of Jin Li’s talent.
【Byron Watt】
【Race: Human】
"Is this really my opponent? At your age, still a Newbie level?"
"How pathetic."
You little brat, just wait until you’re the one crying.
Hearing the child's taunt, Nan Liu Jing revealed a sinister smile. There is a difference even among Newbies, and being taught by a high-level Tornado Master is not something that can be compared to wild training. His strength certainly doesn't match that of a genius like Jin Li.
"Please, you two, step inside. The battle platform is ready over here."
At the Guide's words, the two exchanged glances and snorted before walking in one after the other, taking their positions on opposite sides of the Battle Arena.
The Guide acted as a temporary referee, pulling out a small blue flag that had been prepared in advance.
"The match will be best two out of three. The Gyroscope will lose if it stops or gets knocked off the platform. Is that clear to both of you?"
"No problem." ×2
The Guide nodded and waited for both participants to insert their Launchers and secure their Gyroscopes. Then he raised the small blue flag: "I declare that the match is about to begin! 3!"
"2!"
"1!"
"Go!"
"Go, Radiant Kirin! Crush it!"
"My trump card! Blazing Fire Shield!"
Two sharp metallic sounds rang out as Radiant Kirin and Blazing Fire Shield were launched into the air. Before they even landed, they collided mid-air.
In the next moment, Radiant Kirin landed firmly in the center of the Battle Arena while Blazing Fire Shield was sent flying off, producing a crisp sound as it hit the ground. Byron Watt stood there in shock.
The Guide was equally surprised but quickly recalled that Nan Liu Jing was the brother of White Tiger's Fang, which made it less surprising.
"You little brat, even among Newbies there’s a difference! Did you see that?"
"If you had launched towards the center of the Battle Arena or even at my edge, I might not have been able to knock you off. But launching towards the edge? For someone who has practiced blocking shots like me, that's just like shooting at a target."
