Amidst the chaotic crowd, Yan Qing spotted Tan Ming striding away quickly. He didn't even bother to grab his bag and hurriedly ran after him, calling out, "Hey, wait for me, buddy!" 0

He was acutely aware that following this person was his only chance of survival. 0

Tan Ming understood why Yan Qing was trailing him. To be honest, he wasn't quite sure what was happening either. "For now, let's prioritize safety. You should head back to your dorm and hide," he advised. 0

They had only ten minutes; within that time frame, they should be safe. However, once the plants and animals began to mutate, the situation would become completely unpredictable. 0

"I can't go back to my dorm at South Playground in just ten minutes," Yan Qing replied. 0

"South Playground?" Tan Ming asked. The dormitory buildings there were all lined up; some were close to the library while others were farther away. It might still be possible to run back if they headed toward the library. 0

Tan Ming casually inquired, "Which building is your dorm in?" 0

Yan Qing wanted to say Ten Building, but the mention of Building Six by his teacher had left such a deep impression that he instinctively blurted out, "Six." 0

"Building Six?" Tan Ming frowned. "That's quite far." 0

At South Playground, a higher building number meant it was closer to the library; conversely, a lower number indicated greater distance. 0

Yan Qing decided not to return to his own dorm and simply followed Tan Ming as they sprinted desperately. 0

Around them, the wind howled like a raging beast, sweeping everything in its path. The sky quickly darkened from its initial gloom to an even deeper shade, as if shrouded in thick ink. 0

Above the campus loomed an eerie and strange hue that dominated the atmosphere, resembling a scene of despair before an impending apocalypse. 0

The roads were filled with people running for their lives and those frantically riding bicycles at breakneck speeds. Panic was etched on their faces as their hair stood on end against the fierce wind. 0

Everyone was doing their utmost to survive. 0

Yan Qing struggled to keep up with Tan Ming, his steps growing heavier as he gasped for breath. He shouted behind him, "How can you run so fast?" 0

He watched as those on bicycles sped away effortlessly and felt an overwhelming regret wash over him. Why had he been so stingy about spending three hundred yuan on a bike? 0

"I'm an athlete," Tan Ming said, slightly slowing down to wait for him. At that moment, he was indeed in much better shape than Yan Qing. 0

Yan Qing asked again, "Which dorm do you stay in? Is that why you can run so fast?" 0

"South Playground, Seventeen Building." 0

"Seventeen Building?" Yan Qing exclaimed. He knew that the closest dormitory to the library was Thirty-Six Building; Seventeen Building was situated in between and wasn't exactly close! 0

Yan Qing dared not slacken for a moment, gritting his teeth and quickening his pace. 0

The two of them raced forward through the howling wind, the sound echoing in their ears like the wails of ghosts. 0

At the fourteenth bell, they finally spotted the large characters on the wall of the dormitory ahead: "Nanyuan." 0

With their last ounce of strength, they sprinted the final hundred meters. Just as Tan Ming stepped through the dormitory door, the tenth bell rang, signaling an abrupt end to their frantic dash. 0
