When Huang Renjie and Shin brought Kevin Brother back to the detective agency, it was already past closing time, and Auntie Hong had already packed up and left. The lights inside the detective agency were dim, with only a faint yellow glow emanating from the desk lamp, casting mottled shadows. What was once a bustling and vibrant space now seemed to have fallen into silence, with only the distant sounds of the city and footsteps outside the window.
The three of them slowly crossed the empty office area and ascended the steep staircase. The staircase lights were almost yellow, casting a mysterious atmosphere throughout the passage. Kevin Brother still had unsteady steps, leaning on Huang Renjie and Shin to remain standing.
When they reached the top of the building, a sparkling city night view appeared before their eyes. The rooftop was an open area with no roof covering, only a row of low walls separating the area from the surrounding buildings. Stars twinkled in the night sky, and city lights adorned the distant skyline like pearls shining in the night sky.
Huang Renjie and Shin gently helped Kevin Brother sit on a chair. His head was throbbing with pain, and although he had regained consciousness, his thoughts were still confused, emitting a series of incomprehensible murmurs, like the muttering of a dream.
Next, Huang Renjie and Shin acted quickly to ensure that Kevin Brother could not escape or resist. They took out a thick bundle of rope from a toolbox, a tool specifically used by detectives to bind unruly individuals.
Kevin Brother was seated in a chair, still semi-conscious. Huang Renjie and Shin gently but firmly tied his hands to the back of the chair, ensuring he couldn't move freely. They also secured his legs to the chair's legs, making sure he couldn't stand up or attempt to flee.
These measures are not out of malice, but out of necessity. Kevin Brother knows too much and has been in a state of confusion, which may lead to uncontrollable behavior. Huang Renjie and Shin had to ensure their safety during the interrogation process. When the rope was tightly secured around Kevin Brother, the two checked to make sure it was secure. Then, they sat across from Kevin Brother, ready to begin this important interrogation.
While Huang Renjie prepared his recorder and notebook, Shin quickly found a nearby water pipe and connected it to the nearby faucet. He turned on the valve, letting the water flow out, forming a clear stream of water.
Shin approached and sat down next to Kevin Brother on the chair, without hesitation, he aimed the water column at his face. The cold water splashed instantly on Kevin Brother's face, like a wake-up call.
Kevin Brother instantly woke up, his eyes widened, his face wet, with a shocked expression. He made a confused grumbling sound in his mouth, then tried to wipe away the water droplets on his face.
However, Shin did not intend to stop there. He picked up the water column again, this time spraying even closer, almost touching Kevin Brother's face, forcing him to close his eyes in pain, trying to avoid the water. Not only that, Shin also slapped Kevin Brother in the face several times, each slap carrying a silent warning. Although this awakening method was somewhat rough, it did indeed have the desired effect.
In the end, Kevin Brother opened his eyes, filled with confusion and fear. He looked at Shin standing in front of him, then turned to look at Huang Renjie sitting beside him. He realized he was in a very dangerous situation and had to face the questioning of these two detectives.
Shin found a chair in the corner of the office and casually turned it around to sit, leaning back with his chest against the chair back and his hands resting on it, in a relaxed posture. His eyes were fixed on Kevin Brother, filled with a determined gaze, as if waiting for an answer.
At the same time, Huang Renjie sat nearby with a slight smile on his face, but that smile seemed to hide a hint of cunning. He looked at Kevin Brother with curiosity, as if watching an interesting performance.
Huang Renjie finally spoke, his voice gentle as he asked, "Kevin, let's talk about your relationship with King Cobra. You should know that we have already obtained some clues, but we still need your help to understand more."
Huang Renjie's words seemed to have little effect on Kevin Brother. Kevin tried hard to conceal his fear and then said, "You've got it all wrong. I don't know King Cobra at all. I'm just an ordinary person and I don't know what you're talking about."
Huang Renjie and Shin exchanged a glance, seemingly unsatisfied with Kevin's response. They understood that to get more information, they might need to use stricter methods. Huang Renjie looked deeply at Kevin, his smile turning colder, and then said, " Kevin, you can choose to cooperate and tell us the truth, or you will face a more difficult situation. We won't let you off, and Racing gang won't protect you either. Now, you should consider it carefully."
Kevin Brother kept trying to stay firm, threatening Huang Renjie and Shin, saying, "You're finished now. You've offended Racing gang, and they won't let it go. I have many partners, they will find me, and they won't let you go either."
Huang Renjie sighed, seeming to understand that words were no longer effective. He glanced at Shin, who smiled slightly, silently preparing for something.
Kevin Brother saw this scene and a look of confusion appeared on his face. He didn't understand why the two of them were smiling so confidently. However, just as he was trying to figure it out, Shin suddenly stood up, quickly walked towards him, grabbed his shoulder, and forcefully pulled him up. Kevin Brother was startled and his face changed color, but he couldn't resist.
Shin approached Kevin Brother and smiled as he said, "Kevin, we're not here to joke around. You know we have our own ways of getting you to say what you don't want to." Then he turned to look at Huang Renjie, seemingly waiting for his instructions.
