After some discussion, she decided to drop the lawsuit against her parents. She no longer intended to reclaim the money, considering it her obligation to support them. Once Wu Rong and Rao Jie arrived in the UK and turned on their phones, Rao Jie received a message from her father scolding her. "Why didn’t you say a word before leaving? Are you really going to sever ties with us? We were angry about what you did to your brother, but you can’t keep doing this. You got married without telling us, didn’t share any photos, and now you’re leaving without a word. Do you only want your husband’s family and not us?"
Rao Jie stared blankly at her phone while Wu Rong snatched it away and sent a video they had recorded earlier. "I’m done with you. You can live well with your son; Rao Jie owes you nothing."
There was silence from Rao Gang for a long time, but he didn’t realize that someone else had sent the message. He just thought his daughter was feeling wronged and had become much tougher. However, after a while, he replied with another message: "What if you get divorced after getting married? Won’t your assets be divided? It’s better to transfer everything under your brother’s name first; if you run into trouble later, he can help you. After all, if we give you so much money and you marry someone else, what if they deceive you? Wouldn’t that mean giving everything to outsiders? Your parents know you're feeling wronged, but everything we do is for your own good."
Wu Rong scoffed, "Do you really think others are fools?! Please don’t contact us again."
After that reply, Wu Rong immediately deleted all contact information for the Rao family on behalf of Rao Jie. From then on, they went their separate ways.
At that time, the Rao family still hadn’t realized how their preference for sons over daughters had destroyed everything. After withdrawing it, he made an excuse about going on a trip to relax and spent some time enjoying himself with women outside. By the time he returned home, the money was all gone.
Not long after, the Rao Family discovered the situation and were furious. However, Rao Jian defended himself, claiming he had been wronged in prison and now, without a job, he needed to enjoy himself to regain his spirits.
Though the Rao Family was angry, they realized that the money was already spent and there was nothing they could do about it. Fortunately, they still had some savings, though it wasn't enough to buy a house.
They used their connections to arrange another job for Rao Jian, and a few years later, they helped him find a wife.
