In the hall, the air seemed to freeze, and a chilling gust of wind unexpectedly surged in, creeping down Lin Yuan's neck. He rubbed his arms, feeling that ancient book in his hands growing even warmer, as if he were cradling a freshly baked sweet potato. This thing was now a treasure, but it could also be a death warrant; if it fell into the wrong hands, the consequences would be unimaginable. 0

Su Jiu'er stood beside Lin Yuan, her slender figure trembling slightly like a delicate flower swaying in the wind. Yet her gaze was resolute, her small hands tightly gripping the compass at her chest, ready for action at any moment. This girl appeared fragile, but she surprisingly had guts; no wonder she was a descendant of an archaeological family. At critical moments, she was far more reliable than those "warriors" in the live stream who only knew how to type away at their keyboards. Those online friends could boast endlessly, but when it came down to it, they would probably run faster than Usain Bolt. 0

Two men in black approached with ill intent, their spiritual energy fluctuating like a phone on vibrate mode, buzzing ominously—definitely not easy opponents. Lin Yuan thought to himself: Could these be the rumored enforcers from the Qi Gong Association? No way, no way! Did they really come knocking so soon? 0

"Who are you? Why are you following us?" Lin Yuan glared at the men in black, his tone icy as he tried to project an air of mystery while his heart raced. 0

"Hmph, cut the crap! Hand over the ancient book and we’ll spare your lives!" One of the men snorted coldly, his arrogant tone making him seem like some sort of martial arts overlord. 0

"Pfft! Who do you think you are? The King of Heaven? If you want to rob us, just say so instead of pretending to be so righteous—it's disgusting!" Lin Yuan couldn't stand such pretentiousness and shot back defiantly. If the viewers in the live stream saw this scene, they would probably flood the chat with "666" (a sign of approval). 0

"Looking for death!" The man in black roared in anger and lunged at Lin Yuan with a bizarre weapon in hand. His speed was like an arrow released from a bow, creating a gust of wind that made Lin Yuan's bangs flutter. 0

Lin Yuan was prepared; he sidestepped just in time to avoid the attack. The weapon grazed his clothing with a sharp "sizzle," and his newly bought limited edition sportswear was honorably wounded. 0

"Damn! That was my new limited edition sportswear! Can you afford to pay for it?" Lin Yuan stared at his torn shirt, feeling a pang of pain. He had saved up for months to buy it, and now it was ruined—it felt worse than losing a piece of flesh. 0

"You brat, you still have time to worry about your clothes? Die!" The man charged again with fierce moves, each strike aimed directly at Lin Yuan's vital points. 0

As Lin Yuan dodged the attacks, he observed the man's techniques and realized that although they looked intimidating, they were full of flaws. This guy was probably just an ordinary thug from the Qi Gong Association without any real skills. 0

"With moves like that, you think you can steal from me? Go home and practice for a few more years!" Lin Yuan taunted while evading blows and even mimicked Bruce Lee's classic moves to show off a bit. 0

"You little brat, you're asking for death!" The man in black was enraged by Lin Yuan's taunts, attacking with even more ferocity, completely disregarding his own defenses, like a beast driven mad. 0

Lin Yuan seized the opportunity and kicked the man in black squarely in the stomach. The man let out a howl as he flew backward, crashing heavily to the ground, clutching his belly and unable to get up for a long time. 0

"With your pathetic skills, you think you can fight me? You're simply overestimating yourself!" Lin Yuan clapped his hands as if brushing off dust, though he was actually trying to hide his slightly trembling legs. 0

Seeing this, another man in black rushed forward, attempting to ambush Lin Yuan. A flash of cold light glinted from his hand as a short sword lunged toward Lin Yuan's chest. 0

"Child's play!" Lin Yuan sneered, turning around and delivering a punch directly to the man's face, hitting him squarely on the nose. The man let out a scream as blood gushed from his nose, his vision blurred with stars as he staggered back a few steps. 0

"Is that all you've got? Too weak!" Lin Yuan shook his head in disappointment at the strength of these two men in black, much like a seasoned foodie encountering an unpalatable dish. 0

At that moment, Su Jiu'er also finished her battle. Although she was at a disadvantage, she successfully restrained her opponent with her agile movements and the assistance of her compass. Seizing the opportunity, she struck the edge of the compass hard against the opponent's head. 0

"Stop dawdling; let's get out of here. There are probably more coming," Lin Yuan said as he grabbed Su Jiu'er's hand and ran toward the exit of the hall. 0

Just then, a tall man suddenly appeared at the entrance of the hall, blocking their way. 0

"Trying to leave? Not so easy!" The man said coldly, a glint of malice flashing in his eyes like a drawn sword. 0

Lin Yuan's heart sank; he sensed that this opponent would be much harder to deal with. The man's aura was clearly far stronger than that of the previous two men in black, exuding an oppressive presence that was suffocating. 0

"This guy has such strong fluctuations of Lingqi; he must be a master," Su Jiu'er whispered, her tone laced with concern. 0

"Don't be afraid, I'm here," Lin Yuan comforted, gripping Su Jiu'er's hand to offer her a bit of encouragement. He knew that a fierce battle was inevitable! 0
