Is that so?
But why did I have such a terrifying dream?
I walked over to my boss's desk and looked out through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
The view from this office is excellent, offering a panoramic look at the entire city.
Where is that sound of paper flipping coming from?
I glanced outside the window, only to see the empty buildings next door.
Nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
Could I have misheard it?
"Sister! I've come to find you!" My cousin bounced into the office area.
"What brings you here?" I asked her curiously.
She leaned in close, whispering conspiratorially, "I heard that the 24th floor of your building is haunted!"
"Haunted? I haven't heard anything about that."
My cousin looked serious. "It's true! This place has been sealed off for three years!"
In the elevator.
I stared at the message my cousin had sent me, my hands trembling in fear!
This building is actually haunted!
And the 24th floor has been haunted for three years!
We just happen to be working on the 24th floor!
"The 24th floor has been sealed off. How could you possibly be working there?"
My cousin sent me another message.
I turned to look at the numbers on the elevator display.
24th floor.
How is that possible?
I was clearly trying to go downstairs!
I hurriedly pressed the elevator button, but it still showed the 24th floor.
What should I do?
I messaged my cousin: "What should I do? I can't get down in the elevator!"
But the message just wouldn't send!
I felt like a headless chicken, frantically pressing the elevator button.
Out of the corner of my eye, I caught sight of Lin Ran watching me from a short distance away.
She stood with her arms crossed, her expression unreadable.
Suddenly, I remembered that Lin Ran had told me last night not to go to the Boss's Office.
Could it really be her causing this trouble?
I rushed up to Lin Ran and confronted her, "Lin Ran! Are you messing with me?"
Lin Ran glanced at me indifferently before turning to walk away.
"Explain yourself!"
Lin Ran left without looking back.
Something was off about Lin Ran!
I suddenly remembered the woman in red high heels I had seen earlier in the restroom!
Could that woman be Lin Ran?
No, that’s not right!
Lin Ran was wearing a pair of white sneakers!
I screamed and rushed into the office, looking for a place with more people.
But as soon as I entered, I was engulfed by darkness!
The office was eerily quiet.
The bustling workspace that had been filled with activity just moments ago was now completely empty.
How could this happen?
At that moment, a message popped up on my phone from the ZHZ group chat.
“Lin Ran is in trouble! Run!”
The door to the Boss's Office swung open.
My boss stood at the door, beckoning me, “Yu Bo! Come in quickly!”
I glanced behind him and saw Chen Ling and several other colleagues were there too.
Chen Ling shook her head at me, “Don’t come over!”
What does that mean?
What is Chen Ling trying to say?
Why doesn’t she want me to go to the Boss's Office?
I turned back to look at the darkened workspace.
The sound of high heels grew closer and closer.
I couldn't think about it anymore!
I hurried into the Boss's office and shut the door.
"Yu Bo, why are you only just arriving?" the boss chided.
"Chen Ling told us to hide, but I didn't expect you to call Yu Bo over," I replied.
As soon as I finished speaking, cracks appeared in the glass door of the office.
Lin Ran appeared at the doorway, wearing a pair of red high heels.
Her once beautiful face had twisted into a grotesque mask.
"You can't escape!"
Her voice was hoarse, like a demon crawling out of hell.
Suddenly, the lights in the office exploded.
With a loud bang, shards of glass scattered across the floor.
Lin Ran advanced step by step, forcing us into a corner.
