I heard from my mom that Chen Ruzhou received the project approval and the next day, he took the product team to Silicon Valley.
He hadn't returned to the company for many days.
Aunt Shang occasionally asked my mom about my return date.
On the day I came back, my parents dressed in formal attire came to the airport to pick me up.
When I woke up and got out of the car, I found myself at a five-star hotel.

I managed a forced smile and nodded in response.

He awkwardly remarked, "What’s there to know about her? She's just a workaholic with a bad temper. I thought she wouldn’t come back from the United States."
I didn’t know how to respond, so I stayed silent.
Huang Dandan was dressed in a Chanel suit, exuding the elegance of a successful woman, which contrasted sharply with Chen Ruzhou's appearance today.
I glanced down at myself; after a long flight, I was in casual attire, my hair tousled as if I had just woken up from a nap, looking as if I had just run downstairs for coffee.

"The dress is ready for you, just change in the makeup room later."
I nodded, then shook my head. There was no need; I wasn't the main character.
Chen Ruzhou kept staring at me, his expression inscrutable.
Huang Dandan's gaze flitted back and forth between us.
The atmosphere suddenly turned oddly quiet.
Fortunately, a few Investors arrived just then, and Huang Dandan immediately pulled Chen Ruzhou over to greet them, clearly taking on the role of the hostess.
Seizing the opportunity, I quickly grabbed my mother and headed toward the banquet hall.
Chen Ruzhou had only invited the Core Team and Important Investors to this Project Launch Dinner, so there weren't too many people.
When my colleagues saw me, their expressions were filled with surprise.
I merely smiled and greeted them, pretending to be oblivious.
But their curious glances were impossible to hide.
Even when I stepped out to the terrace for some fresh air, I could hear a few old colleagues in the hallway cornering Chen Ruzhou to pry for information.
"Weren't you two supposed to be at odds because of the Product Director issue? Is Su Wan still unable to let go and came looking for you again?"
Chen Ruzhou scoffed quietly.
"She just has too much work pressure; she'll be fine after a couple of days. After working together for so many years, how could she really be willing to give up on this project?"
The other person sighed, "Actually, Su Wan is quite good. After all, she has been your partner in this venture for so many years and knows your thoughts inside out."
"On one hand, there's a long-time golden partner, and on the other, a rising star in product development. It would be a shame to give up either... So what do you plan to do?"
Chen Ruzhou was silent for a moment before speaking up. "To be honest, I think Su Wan is great too."
"But it just feels like a loss. I'm still so young; how can an entrepreneur only work with one technical partner? That would be too boring."
"I need to go out and explore more possibilities... But that doesn't mean I'm abandoning anything; as long as I come back, there will still be people waiting in the tech department."
The other person fell silent as well.
After a while, he playfully punched Chen Ruzhou's shoulder and said, "You scoundrel."
I couldn't listen any longer and quietly moved away.
As the evening breeze blew, I couldn't help but sniffle, feeling my eyes grow warm again.
I only regretted being blind in the past and misjudging people.
