The Prince's Mansion of Jiangxia County has been extremely busy lately, as Lu Dongzan has successfully passed six imperial examinations set by the Emperor. Recently, the Emperor officially decreed that Princess Wencheng would be married to Tubo's Zanpu—Songzan Ganbu.

Qin Zhu looked at Li Zhenyao, who had been staring blankly at the table for half an hour, her face filled with concern. "Princess?"

The rest of Qin Zhu's sentence was muffled by Li Zhenyao's hand.
With a red face, Li Zhenyao scolded, "You silly girl, what are you shouting about? There are plenty of Blue Ribbons; why do you assume it's one he used? That guy has been so proud after passing six challenges these past few days; I could just slap his face when I see him..."
"Princess!" Qin Zhu struggled to suppress her laughter as she pulled on one corner of the ribbon, revealing a noticeable yellow stain. "But look here! There's still honey on it from when he lured ants through a hole!"
Li Zhenyao's face turned even redder, but she couldn't think of a way to argue back and had to awkwardly sit back down in her chair. "Qin Zhu, what do you think is going on in that guy's head? With that, she turned and walked outside.
Qin Zhu was momentarily stunned before letting out a sigh and following closely behind. Having served Li Zhenyao for many years, she knew her mistress was in a bad mood, so neither of them spoke much along the way.
Though it was customary for young ladies from wealthy families to travel by carriage or sedan chair, Li Zhenyao had never adopted such habits.
In the past, when the Zeng would challenge her daily, she and Qin Zhu would sneak out by climbing over walls. Now that her status had changed and she could leave the palace openly, she still preferred to rely on her own two feet.
After all, White Horse Temple wasn't far.
However, just as Li Zhenyao stepped outside and had taken only a few strides, several vendors selling miscellaneous goods and vegetables suddenly drew swords from their stalls and charged at her.
Caught off guard, Li Zhenyao realized that there were too many of them for her and Qin Zhu to handle with their skills. They had no choice but to dodge and sprint forward as fast as they could.
She never expected that such bold individuals would dare to attack right outside Jiangxia Prince's Residence. But before they could run very far, a dark-skinned man suddenly kicked over a nearby basket with an evil grin.
"Ah!" Qin Zhu instinctively gasped and covered her face, unable to bear looking at the several green snakes that swiftly slithered out from the overturned basket.
Li Zhenyao forced himself to remain calm, despite the rising chorus of gasps around him. He dared not let his focus waver, gripping Qin Zhu's hand tightly as they faced the threat together.
The few Bamboo Leaf Vipers seemed to have locked onto Li Zhenyao and Qin Zhu, moving swiftly toward them.
As Li Zhenyao retreated several steps and found himself cornered against the wall, he suddenly heard the urgent sound of galloping hooves in the distance, accompanied by a familiar male voice calling out, "Be careful!"
It was Lu Dongzan!
