“Chung Yuyang, come back here!” Wang Yushan shouted as she tried to chase after him, but Xu Ziyao reached out and grabbed her arm, saying, “You heartless woman! I just helped you out, and you don’t even appreciate it. I really should mind my own business.” 0

“Yeah, you should mind your own business. Let go of me!” Wang Yushan struggled against his grip. Xu Ziyao, feeling irritated, refused to let go, and as they tugged at each other, the camera they were holding bobbed up and down. 0

“Ah…” Xu Ziyao crouched down, holding his forehead, while Wang Yushan’s eyes widened in panic as she noticed blood seeping through his fingers. 0

“Wang Yushan, how dare you ruin my looks! You really have some nerve!” In the hospital garden, Xu Ziyao was fuming as he chased Wang Yushan around the fountain. 0

“Hey, there’s no ruining of looks; I didn’t even need stitches,” Wang Yushan retorted while running ahead. Despite Xu Ziyao being tall and having long legs, he couldn’t catch up to her at all. 0

“How am I supposed to face people with this on my forehead?” Xu Ziyao pointed at the bandage on his head, jumping in frustration. 0

“Pfft…” Wang Yushan glanced back at him under the lights surrounding the fountain and couldn’t help but burst into laughter at the sight of the white bandage on his handsome face, which made him look particularly comical. 0

“You’re laughing!” Xu Ziyao exclaimed angrily and suddenly had a clever idea. He turned and ran in the opposite direction. Wang Yushan didn’t expect him to change direction and couldn’t stop in time, crashing right into his arms. 0

“See? I told you I’d catch you,” Xu Ziyao said triumphantly as he held her tightly. 0

This was the first time Wang Yushan had ever been embraced by a man like this. The solid chest against her body and the faint scent of tobacco on his clothes made her heart race. She pushed against his chest with both hands and playfully scolded him, “Who told you to say I’m your woman in front of Chung Yuyang?” 0

“He and that socialite were bullying you; isn’t it only right that I stand up for you?” Xu Ziyao countered. 0

“Well, you shouldn’t say it like that. Chung Yuyang is my… fiancé,” Wang Yushan said softly. 0

"Ah?" Xu Ziyao exclaimed in surprise, loosening his grip. Wang Yushan seized the opportunity to escape his embrace, her face burning with embarrassment. Fortunately, the night was deep, providing ample cover. 0

"You’re Chang Kaihua's fiancée? You... must be quite unfortunate," Xu Ziyao said, filled with sympathy for her. 0

The name Chung Yuyang might not be known to some, but the nickname "Chang Kaihua" was infamous on the Shanghai Bund—known as a notorious playboy who had never been without a woman by his side, from popular movie stars to innocent college girls. Hence, he earned the moniker "Chang Kaihua," which meant "flowers blooming everywhere." Xu Ziyao felt like a fool, and Chung Yuyang seemed even less than that. 0

"My marriage to Chung Yuyang was arranged by our parents. I was young and naive at the time. After my parents passed away, the family business relied on my brother-in-law's support. I originally wanted to break off this engagement after graduation, but my sister and brother-in-law disagreed. They said that only by relying on the Chang family's influence could our Wang family weather these turbulent times. If I don’t marry him, my deceased parents would never rest in peace," Wang Yushan sighed. 0

The Chang family was wealthy and influential, with connections both in politics and the underworld, monopolizing the tobacco business in Shanghai. Marrying into the Chang family meant financial security. Having raised her with great effort, Wang Yushan couldn't bear to go against her sister's wishes. 0

Yet, Chung Yuyang was truly unbearable; even after marriage, she would merely be a nominal Young Lady. The thought made her heart ache, and tears welled up in her eyes. 0

Xu Ziyao fell silent as well. Noticing her tears, he instinctively reached out to wipe them away but hesitated and withdrew his hand instead, softly sighing, "Marrying someone like that won't bring you happiness; your parents will be even more restless." 0

Wang Yushan looked up at him, surprised to see him wearing an unusually serious expression. "Parents in this world don't care whether their children are rich or poor; they only care if they are happy." 0

"Wow, that makes so much sense! But why do you..." Wang Yushan didn’t elaborate on what she had heard about him; Xu Ziyao understood her question was about why he always opposed his father and stirred up trouble. 0

He didn’t want to explain. Instead, he gazed up at the stars in the night sky and said, "I’ll tell you when I have the chance in the future. It’s getting late; let me take you home." 0
