"What? You didn't even get a photo of Yao Meling? What were you doing last night?" Editor Tao shouted, losing his temper once again. 0

Wang Yushan replied, feeling wronged, "She was with my fiancé. Do you think I had the mood to take pictures?" 0

"Wait, Mr. Chang? That's big news! Yushan, you should have taken that shot!" Editor Tao shook her shoulders, looking quite regretful. 0

"What’s so great about a flirtatious socialite who only knows how to amuse men? Editor, I have no interest in photographing her with Chung Yuyang. I'm really tired of this kind of gossip." 0

Wang Yushan shrugged off his hand. She was about to dig up her fiancé's scandalous news herself; it wouldn't be long before she made the headlines. 0

"Yushan, our evening paper relies on this for revenue. As a reporter, you must comply." 0

"I'm a reporter to uncover meaningful stories, not this kind of pink romance. I'm sorry, but I can't meet your expectations. I'm resigning." Wang Yushan stood up angrily and walked out. 0

Behind her, she heard Editor Tao's voice: "Fine, that's what you want. I approve." 0

Holding her belongings tightly, Wang Yushan walked down the street, unsure of where to go. She stood by the tram stop in a daze; if she went home, her sister would definitely find out about her resignation and would start nagging her to marry into the Chang family. 0

Chung Yuyang was a notorious playboy, known for his numerous affairs. The arranged marriage had no foundation of love, and now she had become the subject of ridicule even before tying the knot. Wang Yushan felt deeply resentful. Suddenly, she regretted quitting her job; at least having a job would help her avoid her sister's marriage pressure. 0

A car horn honked behind her. She stepped aside without looking back, but the car stopped right next to her. 0

Xu Ziyao leaned out from the passenger side with a bandaged head and winked cheekily, teasing, "Moving house, Miss Wang?" 0

Wang Yushan shot him a glare and replied curtly, "I quit my job." 0

"Are you getting married then?" 0

"You’re the one getting married!" 0

"Hey, did you eat explosives or something? Why are you yelling?" Xu Ziyao shouted. 0

Ignoring him, Wang Yushan continued walking forward with her cardboard box. Xu Ziyao drove up alongside her and pushed open the passenger door, shouting, "Get in!" 0

"What for?" 0

"I'll take you somewhere to cool off, are you up for it?" Xu Ziyao said with a teasing tilt of his head. 0

Since she didn't want to go home anyway, Wang Yushan climbed into the car, clutching the items from her box, and tossed everything into the back seat. 0

Xu Ziyao glared at the mess she had made in his car, ready to explode in anger, but Wang Yushan flashed a charming smile and said, "Consider these gifts for you." 0

Xu Ziyao gave her a thumbs up, gritting his teeth as he turned the car around. 0

The so-called "cooling off" meant taking her to the Horse Ranch for a ride. However, upon entering the ranch, instead of calming down, Wang Yushan felt even more frustrated. 0

She had never ridden a horse before and ended up throwing a tantrum at Xu Ziyao, waving the riding whip as she chased him around for several laps. 0

In the end, he lifted her onto the horse's back. With a mischievous slap on the horse's rear, Wang Yushan screamed in delight as they galloped away, her heart racing with fear. 0

Xu Ziyao, on the other hand, laughed heartily without a care in the world. Perhaps influenced by his laughter, Wang Yushan's anger gradually dissipated. 0

The joy of riding made her happier than ever; all her worries faded away, and even Xu Ziyao's annoying antics began to seem more tolerable. 0

They returned home only after sunset. Still feeling exhilarated, Wang Yushan hummed a tune as she walked in to find her sister waiting for her at the dining table. 0

The food in front of her had barely been touched. A servant took Wang Yushan's coat and stepped back. 0

She sat down at the table and asked, "Sis, where's brother-in-law?" 0

"Uncle Chang invited some friends from the Political Circle for dinner and took your brother-in-law along," Wang Yuhui replied. 0

Wang Yuhui scooped a bowl of soup for her sister and placed it in front of her. Observing her expression, she asked, "Mr. Tao called this afternoon and mentioned you resigned from your job at the newspaper?" 0

"I thought you were sulking somewhere this afternoon; you seem quite happy now. Resigning is fine; it's not very respectable for a girl to be a reporter. I didn’t oppose it because you’re naturally active and can’t just sit at home waiting to get married. 0

Our parents passed away early, so I don’t want to restrict you too much. I want you to pursue what you love. But now that you've grown up, your thoughts should also be on your future family. Today, Chang Yuyang’s mother sent over some things for you, including a necklace said to be from the previous dynasty’s palace. I’ll go get it for you," Wang Yuhui said as she stood up. 0

Wang Yushan grabbed her arm impatiently and said, "Sis, can we eat first? I don’t like what they sent over. It’s just Mrs. Chang trying to placate me every time I find out about Chung Yuyang being with another woman; she sends gifts the next day to smooth things over. You can count how many things are stuffed in my cabinet already." 0

"Little sister, which man nowadays doesn't have a few women, both openly and secretly? Just turn a blind eye; after all, you will be the Young Lady of the Chang Family. Isn't that enough?" 0

"Since you're so generous, why not let my brother-in-law marry that Dancer?" 0

"Your brother-in-law is all show and no substance; he wouldn't dare bring it up with me. A woman needs to have some means to keep a man in check. I've made that wretched woman stay outside, and now your brother-in-law is grateful to me and does everything I say," Wang Yuhui said with a smug expression. 0

"Sister, the marriage I want is one where only the two of us love each other, holding hands and growing old together." 0

Wang Yuhui chuckled awkwardly. "Little sister, that's unrealistic." 0

"Unrealistic?" Wang Yushan disagreed. Such a world of love must exist; could there really be no one who would wholeheartedly belong to her? She thought to herself, her mind drifting to Xu Ziyao's smiling face. 0

"Get ready; in a few days, I will discuss your marriage with Mrs. Chang regarding you and Chang Yuyang," Wang Yuhui said as she added another spoonful of soup for her. 0

"I disagree!" 0

"You don't get a say in this. With our parents gone, it's up to me to make decisions for you," Wang Yuhui's expression darkened. 0

"Whoever wants to marry can marry; I'm not going!" Wang Yushan exclaimed angrily as she stood up, leaving her meal untouched and storming upstairs. 0

Wang Yuhui slammed her chopsticks down, unable to eat any longer. 0
