These unbearable photos will be the key to unlocking a new chapter in my life.
“ sister Qin,” A Chuan said, “I have never felt so satisfied being with you.”
Feng Yao has finally declared war on me.
A wave of nausea surged in my stomach, and I could no longer endure it; I rushed to the bathroom.
I was retching so hard that it felt like my bile would come up, and the nausea drained my strength.
I leaned slowly against the wall, but the anger in my heart made me want to smash everything around me.
Ji Chuan, why are you doing this to me?
I curled up, hugging myself, quietly waiting for the nausea to pass.
“Then you should serve him well,” I typed out slowly and sent it.
Feng Yao continued, “Do you know what happened at the class reunion?”
I clenched my teeth, trying hard not to throw up again.
Feng Yao said, “At the reunion, I wanted to start over with A Chuan, but he rejected me. He said he was married and couldn’t betray his wife.”
Feng Yao added, “That night I got drunk at a bar and someone slipped something into my drink. I called A Chuan, and within half an hour, he was by my side.”
Feng Yao continued, “In the end, he personally helped me with the drug.”
The metallic taste of blood filled my mouth as her words struck me like a sharp knife.
I carefully took screenshots of our conversation, including the photos from earlier.
After doing this, I adjusted my breathing.
Feng Yao went on, “Do you know why he proposed to you after graduating from college? That day, I was dating someone else.”
“I don’t want to expose this, but I have to tell you that A Chuan is with you because of me. He can leave you for me at any time—he did before, and he can do it again.”
I steadied my breath and replied slowly.
“Do you really want my position?”
“Then I’ll give it to you, but your position will be left empty.”
Feng Yao wants everything, but there’s no such good fortune to be had.
I turned off my phone and chose not to think about it anymore. When Ji Chuan came home with flowers, I didn’t ask him what happened at the company.
I said, "Ji Chuan, can you spend more time with me lately?"
He agreed and followed through.
I wanted to buy a stroller for the baby, and he took me to many shopping malls, comparing various brands until we finally settled on a pink one and a blue one.
"If this baby is a girl, we'll use the pink one; the blue one can be saved for when we have a son," I said with a smile. I then placed the stroller in the nursery.
I asked Ji Chuan to accompany me for my prenatal check-up. Watching the ultrasound, I saw our baby's tiny heart beating vigorously. Ji Chuan excitedly squeezed my hand.
I asked him, "Ji Chuan, if we have a daughter, what kind of person do you hope she will marry?"
Without hesitation, he replied, "I can support her for life."
I looked at him quietly. He scratched his head and compromised, saying, "I hope she marries someone who truly loves her, accepts her, and won’t let her suffer."
"What if that person cheats?"
"Divorce. I would make him lose everything."
"And what if she’s pregnant?"
"She should terminate it. That kind of scumbag doesn’t deserve to have my daughter bear his child. It’s about being responsible for herself and for the baby."
I smiled in agreement, "Then let’s do it your way."
Ji Chuan hugged me tightly and said, "Qin Qin, our daughter will never encounter such a person."
It seemed he loved our child very much. He seemed to really want a daughter. But he wanted not just one, but more than that.
