The wedding ceremony continued as Fang Jing Shu and Li Bo exchanged rings and recited their vows. When Li Bo kissed Fang Jing Shu, the venue erupted in enthusiastic applause. 0

However, amidst the joyful atmosphere, Li Bo felt as though his heart had been hollowed out. He gazed at Fang Jing Shu, who was beautiful and gentle, yet he could not shake the memory of Dai Xinyi from his mind. Dai Xinyi's abrupt departure felt like a thorn embedded deep within him, leaving him unable to find peace. He was uncertain whether his decision was right or wrong; all he knew was that there was no turning back now. 0

As the wedding festivities came to an end and the excitement gradually faded, Li Bo returned home, dragging his weary body through the door. The house felt so foreign yet oddly comical. Dai Xinyi's pink slippers still lay at the entrance, adorned with cartoon kittens, mocking him for his hasty and helpless situation. 0

His parents soon arrived, their faces shifting from joy to concern. "Bo, what on earth is going on?" Mother Li asked anxiously as she entered, her eyes filled with worry. Father Li remained silent but stared intently at him, waiting for an explanation. 0

Taking a deep breath, Li Bo recounted everything to his parents—from the bloody message he received from Zhang Tianming to Dai Xinyi's resolute departure, and finally to his impulsive decision to marry Fang Jing Shu. He held nothing back. 0

After hearing this, Mother Li was momentarily speechless; she struggled to understand Dai Xinyi's actions and felt heartbroken for her son. "How could that girl be so foolish? How could she abandon her own wedding for someone else?" 0

Father Li paused for a moment before placing a reassuring hand on Li Bo's shoulder. "Son, I know you're hurting. Given the circumstances, don’t be too hard on yourself. Dai Xinyi’s choice was her own; you’ve done your best." 0

"But Dad," Li Bo began to explain again but was interrupted by Father Li. 0

"I know you still have feelings for Dai Xinyi," he said. "But relationships involve two people; it takes both sides to make it work. Since Dai Xinyi chose to walk away, no matter how hard you try now, it will be in vain. You are married to Fang Jing Shu now; you must take responsibility for her and for yourself." 0

Mother Li chimed in with encouragement: "Yes, Bo, Fang Jing Shu is a good girl—gentle and virtuous. If you treat her well, we will be at ease." 0

Li Bo understood that his parents meant well; he also knew he should look forward instead of dwelling on the past. Yet the memory of Dai Xinyi’s escape weighed heavily on him like a massive stone pressing down on his chest, making it hard to breathe. 0

As for explaining things to the outside world, Father Li took it upon himself to handle that responsibility. He publicly declared that Dai Xinyi could not attend the wedding due to a sudden illness and that Fang Jing Shu had stepped in as a bridesmaid to ensure that the ceremony would not be left with regrets. 0

Though this explanation seemed somewhat forced, it managed to hold up amidst the blessings and curiosity of others. 0

When the news reached their neighbor Ma Junjie, who was sitting on his balcony sipping tea, he was momentarily taken aback before bursting into laughter. Ma Junjie was a warm-hearted older brother figure who often looked out for Li Bo's family. Hearing this news made him chuckle uncontrollably. 0

"Li Bo really has some luck!" he thought. "His bride ran away but he ended up with the bridesmaid as his wife! Not everyone gets such fortune!" He laughed while shaking his head as if he were watching an entertaining drama unfold before him. 0
