She filled her days to the brim, working during the day, attending classes at night, and barely taking any time off on weekends. She forced herself not to think about Li Wenbo, not to dwell on the sweet memories of the past. She told herself that only by becoming stronger and more independent could she regain control of her life.
Months later, Dai Xinyi's efforts began to pay off. Not only did she achieve significant progress at work, but she also earned several professional certifications. She started to feel an unprecedented sense of fulfillment and confidence; she was no longer the weak and helpless girl but an independent professional woman.
Meanwhile, Li Wenbo and Fang Jing Shu's lives gradually fell into a routine. They decorated their home together and adopted a little dog named Wangcai, living a peaceful and happy life.
One evening, Li Wenbo and Fang Jing Shu took Wangcai for a walk in the neighborhood. As they passed by the community garden, they spotted a familiar figure teaching a group of children how to dance.
"Isn't that Dai Xinyi?" Fang Jing Shu asked in surprise.
Li Wenbo followed her gaze and indeed saw Dai Xinyi. She wore simple athletic clothes, her hair tied back in a ponytail, and her face radiated confidence. She patiently guided the children, her movements light and graceful, like a butterfly dancing in the air.
"She seems to have changed so much," Li Wenbo remarked.
"Yes, she's become more confident and cheerful," Fang Jing Shu agreed.
Li Wenbo held Wangcai's leash and unconsciously stopped walking. Fang Jing Shu paused as well, gently tugging at his sleeve and whispering, "Why not go say hello?"
After hesitating for a moment, Li Wenbo nodded. He took a deep breath and walked towards Dai Xinyi. The children spotted Wangcai and immediately rushed over, excitedly surrounding him while Wangcai wagged his tail happily, playing with them.
"Dai Xinyi," Li Wenbo said as he approached her, his tone calm and natural.
Dai Xinyi looked up and was momentarily surprised to see him, but quickly regained her composure. "Wen Bo, it's been a while."
"Long time no see," Li Wenbo replied, his gaze landing on her face. He noticed that she had indeed changed; the confusion and fragility in her eyes had been replaced with confidence and determination.
"Wangcai, stop it," Fang Jing Shu said as she walked over to pull Wangcai closer. She smiled at Dai Xinyi and asked, "Dai Xinyi, how have you been lately?"
"Pretty good," Dai Xinyi nodded, her eyes darting between Li Wenbo and Fang Jing Shu with a hint of complex emotions that were hard to decipher. "How about you two? Are you adjusting to married life?"
"We're doing well, thank you," Fang Jing Shu replied sincerely.
"Dai Xinyi, are you teaching kids how to dance now?" Li Wenbo asked, trying to break the slightly awkward atmosphere.
"Yes, I've been learning dance recently and thought I’d teach the kids too," Dai Xinyi answered with a faint smile. "The children are adorable and full of energy; being with them makes me feel younger."
"You really do look vibrant now," Li Wenbo said. "Better than before."
Dai Xinyi smiled but didn’t respond. She lowered her head to rearrange the children's formation before continuing to teach them how to dance.
Li Wenbo and Fang Jing Shu stood quietly nearby, watching Dai Xinyi interact with the children. The innocent laughter of the kids combined with Dai Xinyi's graceful movements created a warm and beautiful scene.
"It seems like she has truly let go," Fang Jing Shu whispered to Li Wenbo.
