At the same time, Li Wenbo's life underwent a tremendous transformation. Fang Jing Shu appeared like a shining star, illuminating his previously dull world. Her tenderness and thoughtfulness made him feel a warmth he hadn't experienced in a long time. Although life after marriage was simple, it was filled with warmth and happiness. Fang Jing Shu also faced new challenges at work. She was promoted to department manager, which added more responsibilities to her plate. Every day, she had to handle tedious administrative tasks while also coordinating relationships among team members and dealing with various unexpected situations. The pressure weighed heavily on her, making it hard for her to breathe.
"Fang Jing Shu, you don't look too well lately. Are you overworked?" Gao Daqiang asked with concern. He was not only Li Wenbo's colleague but also a mentor and friend to Fang Jing Shu.
Rubbing her temples, Fang Jing Shu replied with a wry smile, "Yes, there’s been a lot going on recently, and I feel a bit overwhelmed."
Gao Daqiang patted her shoulder reassuringly. "Don't worry, take your time. It’s normal to feel a bit out of sorts at first; I went through the same thing. If you have any questions, just ask me—don’t push yourself too hard."
Gao Daqiang generously shared his management experience with her, covering everything from team building to project management in detail. Fang Jing Shu listened attentively and began applying these valuable insights to her work. Gradually, she started to regain her confidence, and her work became more manageable.
Li Wenbo was also facing challenges at work. Recently, his team had taken on a major project that required solving a technical problem. With his solid expertise and rich experience, he led his team members in round-the-clock research and development.
"Wenbo, this technical challenge has been troubling us for a long time. Are you sure you can solve it?" asked a worried team member named Xiao Zhang.
Li Wenbo smiled confidently. "Don’t worry; I already have some ideas. I believe we can overcome this hurdle."
Li Wenbo's optimism and confidence inspired his team members, and they worked together with determination. After several weeks of hard work, they finally found a solution.
When the project successfully launched, the entire team erupted in celebration. Li Wenbo earned the respect of both the leadership and his colleagues for his outstanding performance.
Fang Jing Shu was riding high on success lately; she felt as if she were floating on air. The higher-ups praised her frequently, hinting at future promotions. Power was like an aphrodisiac; once tasted, it was hard to give up.
Fang Jing Shu was no exception; she began to enjoy the feeling of being cherished and worked even harder, wanting to spend every hour at the office.
Li Wenbo didn’t see anything wrong with this; he felt proud that his wife was successful. However, he couldn’t help but feel a little empty inside due to their decreasing time together.
One afternoon, Li Wenbo decided to buy sushi—Fang Jing Shu's favorite—hoping to surprise her at the office for lunch together. When he arrived at the building where she worked and called her phone, there was no answer. Assuming she might be in a meeting, he went upstairs to deliver the sushi himself.
As he reached Fang Jing Shu's office door, he froze in place. Through the partially open door, he saw a man sitting across from her at the desk, leaning in closely as if sharing an intimate moment. The man looked quite presentable in his suit and meticulously styled hair as he animatedly pointed at something on Fang Jing Shu's computer screen.
Fang Jing Shu listened intently, nodding occasionally with a hint of a smile on her lips.
A pang of jealousy surged through Li Wenbo as he stood there like a fool, watching his wife engage with another man in what seemed like flirtation.
