Kebo took the document and began to read it carefully. His brows furrowed as he noticed some discrepancies in the data. If not corrected in time, it would have a significant impact on the entire project.
"I understand, I'll make the changes as soon as possible," he said, rubbing his temples, feeling a wave of fatigue wash over him.
"Don't work too hard," Gao Daqiang patted him on the shoulder, reminding him to take care of his health.
Kebo nodded, watching Gao Daqiang leave. He had just immersed himself in his work but found it difficult to concentrate. The shadow of Dai Xinyi kept appearing in his mind, causing him distress.
At that moment, a sneaky figure appeared at the office door. Huang Guoqiang, Kebo's colleague and also his biggest rival. He envied Kebo's talent and success and had been looking for an opportunity to bring him down.
Huang Guoqiang stealthily approached Kebo's computer and, while he wasn't paying attention, inserted a USB drive. The drive contained a virus program that could silently corrupt Kebo's project data.
After completing this act, Huang Guoqiang quickly removed the drive and slipped back to his seat. A sinister smile crept across his face as if he could already envision Kebo's downfall.
Unaware of the impending danger, Kebo continued to fret over the project data issues. He opened the modified document, ready to upload it again, only to find that his computer suddenly froze and then crashed with a blue screen.
"What’s going on?" Kebo felt a jolt of panic as an ominous premonition surged within him. He restarted the computer but discovered that all project data had vanished, leaving only an empty folder.
"Where is my data?" Kebo's face turned pale, and he trembled all over. He realized he had been set up.
He abruptly lifted his head and scanned the office, locking eyes with each person present. Finally, his gaze landed on Huang Guoqiang, who was feigning nonchalance while working; however, the barely perceptible smirk at the corner of his mouth betrayed him.
Fury ignited within Kebo as he stormed up to Huang Guoqiang, grabbing him by the collar and gritting his teeth. "Did you do this?"
Huang Guoqiang widened his eyes in feigned surprise, wearing an innocent expression. "What are you talking about? I don’t know anything."
"Stop pretending!" Kebo shouted. "Where is my data? What did you do with it?"
Huang Guoqiang sneered and pushed Kebo's hand away. "I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m just an ordinary employee; how could I possibly have the ability to destroy your data? Maybe you should consider whether you made some mistakes yourself."
Kebo trembled with rage, wishing he could punch Huang Guoqiang in the face. He knew Huang Guoqiang was lying but had no evidence.
The atmosphere in the office was tense, thick with hostility like ice ready to shatter. Kebo glared at Huang Guoqiang, his eyes burning with fury. The surrounding colleagues paused their work, curiously watching this sudden confrontation unfold.
"Stop playing dumb!" Kebo slammed his fist down on Huang Guoqiang's desk with a loud bang that made the papers and coffee cups jump. "Where is my data? Did you steal it?"
Huang Guoqiang feigned calmness as he straightened his disheveled collar, still wearing that nauseating fake smile. "Kebo, you can eat whatever you want for lunch, but don't speak carelessly. You say I stole your data—what proof do you have?"
