The morning mist hung thickly in the air, making Xian Cao Garden appear like a mysterious island, quietly standing in the dawn light, sometimes hidden, sometimes revealed. The three members of the Ground Sky Squad exchanged excited glances, their eyes sparkling with anticipation. Xiao Zhuzi gracefully hopped off the four-wheeled cart, stretching her body comfortably as the fresh morning air filled with a hint of sweetness enveloped her. She decided to walk the short distance instead of riding, eager to stretch her limbs. Bouncing along happily, she followed Snail Village Chief, chattering and laughing until they soon arrived at the entrance of Xian Cao Garden.
As they approached, the mist grew denser, resembling a thick curtain that separated the outside world from Xian Cao Garden, exuding an indescribable sense of mystery. The trio felt a twinge of nervousness as they cautiously moved forward. Suddenly, a clear and authoritative voice rang out: “Halt! Who goes there? How dare you trespass into Xian Cao Garden!”
Startled by the sudden reprimand, they froze in shock. Upon closer inspection, they noticed guards stationed at the entrance. Six Bee Guards stood solemnly with sharp spears in hand. Seeing this, Xiao Zhuzi quickly shrank behind Snail Village Chief, revealing only her big round eyes as she quietly observed the scene. Snail Village Chief gently patted her head with his soft antennae to comfort her and said kindly, “Hello there! We come from Grass Leaf Forest and have important matters to discuss with Dragonfly Elder.”
At that moment, Hua Hua hurriedly jumped off the cart and stepped forward to add, “I am Hua Hua, an intelligence officer from Grass Leaf Forest. I was sent by Mr. Hummingbird to deliver a message to Dragonfly Elder. It concerns the peace and safety of Grass Leaf Forest; please let us in!”
The Bee Guards exchanged knowing glances and signaled for them to wait a moment. Then one of the Bee Guards flew up into the air and performed a special dance directed toward the depths of Xian Cao Garden. Xiao Zhuzi recalled her mother telling her that bees communicate through dance; she watched with great interest, finding their message dance both fascinating and beautiful. Before long, the messenger Bee Guard returned, nodded to his companions, and turned to face Xiao Zhuzi and the others.
“It’s all set; you may enter now. I will guide you,” he said before leading the way into Xian Cao Garden.
The three members of Ground Sky Squad followed closely behind the Bee Guard as they stepped into Xian Cao Garden. The sight before them left them momentarily stunned as if they had entered a dreamlike paradise. Lush greenery filled their view; plants grew in an orderly yet wild manner. Some resembled gigantic open umbrellas while others danced gracefully like elegant fairies. Sunlight filtered through layers of leaves like golden sand, casting dappled shadows on the ground and weaving a vibrant tapestry full of life. As they ventured deeper into Xian Cao Garden, they felt increasingly refreshed by the unusually pleasant air; a gentle breeze carried with it delightful herbal scents.
Along their journey, they witnessed scenes of busy yet orderly life within Xian Cao Garden: Mantis Soldiers patrolled with imposing knives in hand; industrious Ant Families transported various supplies; Dragonflies flitted gracefully just above ground; and beautiful butterflies playfully flitted among flowers, carefully tending to the plants… Everything around Xiao Zhuzi was so captivating that she felt her eyes could hardly take it all in. She was as excited as a bird just released from its cage, peering around eagerly while occasionally whispering curious questions to Snail Village Chief and Hua Hua.
Before they knew it, they had followed the guiding Bee Guard deep into Xian Cao Garden. Before them lay a large pond that resembled a green mirror embedded in the earth. The shimmering surface reflected the surrounding lush vegetation and azure sky. A delicate little bridge made of resilient grass spanned across the pond. Crossing this Grass Bridge revealed a uniquely styled building that resembled an ancient temple yet incorporated many natural elements, giving it a distinctive charm. The towering spire contrasted beautifully with the dense trees surrounding it, creating an atmosphere of solemnity; meanwhile, various exotic flowers climbed its walls, adding a touch of natural vitality. The entire structure radiated an indescribable allure.
As they were lost in admiration, they heard the Bee Guard’s voice nearby: “Everyone, I’ll take you this far. Cross this bridge to reach our council hall; someone will guide you to meet Dragonfly Elder on the other side. Goodbye.” With that, he turned and flew back into a sea of green before they could express their gratitude.
