As the Time-Space Potion slid down Xiao Zhuzi's throat, she felt the entire world suddenly begin to spin. The scene before her quickly blurred, replaced by a massive, colorful spiral known as Nebula. It resembled a mysterious vortex, radiating a soft and enchanting glow.
Before Xiao Zhuzi could react, she felt an invisible force tugging at her, instantly pulling her into this wondrous Nebula.
"Wow!" Xiao Zhuzi exclaimed, but soon realized her voice was swallowed by the vastness of this time and space.
The sights around her were breathtaking. Countless points of light flickered within the Nebula, each one seemingly a miniature world. Xiao Zhuzi felt herself weaving between these lights, her speed increasing. Suddenly, she noticed familiar images beginning to appear around her. They were fragments of her experiences in the Little World, flashing by like slides in a projector. Each image was so vivid, as if she could reach out and touch them, yet they dissipated the moment she tried to grasp them. These shards of memory swirled around her, forming beautiful kaleidoscopic patterns.
Xiao Zhuzi felt herself spinning faster and faster, the surrounding scenes becoming increasingly blurred. The light of the Nebula grew more intense, almost engulfing her entirely. She struggled to stay awake, but her eyelids grew heavier. The last memory she held was of tightly clutching two gemstones in her arms before slowly closing her eyes…
When Xiao Zhuzi awoke again, she felt someone gently patting her shoulder, accompanied by a soft voice saying, "Little one, wake up! Don't sleep here!"
She slowly opened her eyes and groggily saw a Property Aunt standing in front of her. "Little one, how did you fall asleep here? You might catch a cold! It's getting late; you should head home!"
Xiao Zhuzi dazedly looked around and realized she had been lying on a bench next to the community playground, with the sunset's afterglow casting warm light upon her.
I’m back? I never really left the community? Was everything in the Little World just a dream?
She looked down at her tightly clenched hands and slowly opened them. In that moment, her heart skipped a beat—two gemstones lay quietly in her palms: one was the Colorful Time-Space Spiral Gem, and the other was the radiant red Hua Hua Ruby, both about the size of her pinky nail—so real!
"This isn't a dream... it's all real! This isn't a dream!" Xiao Zhuzi exclaimed with wide eyes.
The Property Aunt looked at her with confusion. "Are you alright, little one?"
Xiao Zhuzi snapped back to reality and hurriedly tucked the gemstones into her pocket. "Thank you, Auntie! I'm going home!" With that, she leaped up and dashed toward home, her heart racing with countless thoughts.
"I spent over three months in the Little World; Mom and Dad must be worried sick!"
Imagining the anxious faces of her parents and picturing them searching for her filled her with guilt and longing, quickening her pace even more.
"Dad! Mom! I'm back!" Xiao Zhuzi burst through the door breathlessly, expecting to see frantic parents waiting for her. However, what she saw left her stunned.
Her mother stood at the entrance, checking her carefully applied makeup in the mirror as if preparing to go out. Her father held his phone in hand, seemingly about to call someone.
Seeing Xiao Zhuzi rush in with a shout surprised both of them.
"You’re back! Your dad was just about to call your classmate’s house to ask why you hadn’t returned yet!" Her mother turned around with a playful smile.
Upon seeing her mother's familiar gentle face, all the accumulated longing surged within Xiao Zhuzi. She cried as she threw herself into her mother's embrace, holding on tightly while tears soaked through her mother's clothes.
"Mom! Dad... I... I missed you so much!" Xiao Zhuzi sobbed intermittently. "I thought I would never see you again..."
Mom and Dad exchanged puzzled glances, unsure of what had happened.
"Sweetheart, what's wrong?" Mom gently patted Xiao Zhuzi's back. "You were just out playing for a little while. Why are you thinking about us like this?"
Dad approached with concern, ruffling Xiao Zhuzi's hair. "What’s the matter, darling? Did something happen outside? Did someone bully you?"
Xiao Zhuzi looked up, her eyes brimming with tears as she gazed at her parents. "No... nobody bullied me. But... I’ve been gone for several months! Aren’t you worried?"
Mom and Dad were even more confused now. Mom squatted down and gently wiped the tears from Xiao Zhuzi's face. "Little stinker, what are you talking about? You’ve only been out playing for a little over three hours."
"What?" Xiao Zhuzi exclaimed, her eyes widening in surprise, tears still clinging to her lashes.
Dad glanced at his watch and said, "That’s right, you went out around two o'clock; it’s not even six yet."
Xiao Zhuzi was stunned. She recalled her adventures in Little World—those long three months filled with thrilling experiences... and it had only been a little over three hours in Human World?
Seeing their daughter’s shocked expression, Mom and Dad felt a wave of concern. After confirming that Xiao Zhuzi hadn’t been bullied, they finally sighed in relief.
"Alright, alright, it’s getting late!" Dad said with a smile. "Xiao Zhuzi, hurry and change your clothes! We’re going out for a birthday feast!"
Only then did Xiao Zhuzi remember that today was indeed her birthday. She stood there dazed, her mind still in a jumble.
"Come on, come on, let’s get you changed," Mom gently nudged her. "Don’t keep your dad waiting too long."
Xiao Zhuzi mechanically nodded and slowly followed her mother to her room. Her hand instinctively reached into her pocket, feeling the presence of the two gems, which brought her some comfort.
It wasn’t a dream, she told herself; her experiences and friends were real. It was just that time flowed differently in the two worlds. Taking a deep breath, she decided to keep this wonderful secret to herself for now. She wanted to enjoy this special birthday with her beloved mom and dad.
Sitting in the cozy dining room, Xiao Zhuzi savored her birthday feast with her parents. Everything felt surreal; she hadn’t fully detached from her experiences in Little World yet. The flickering candlelight illuminated the thoughtful expression on Xiao Zhuzi's face.
"Mom," Xiao Zhuzi suddenly spoke up, "can you do me a favor?"
"Of course, sweetheart. What’s your birthday wish? I’ll do my best to make it happen."
Xiao Zhuzi pulled out the two gems from her pocket and carefully placed them on the table. The colorful Time-Space Spiral Gem and the red flower gem sparkled with an enchanting glow under the candlelight.
"Mom, these are... gifts from my best friends for my birthday," Xiao Zhuzi said softly, nostalgia flickering in her eyes. "I want you to help me turn them into a necklace pendant so I can keep them close to me."
Mom looked at the beautiful gems in surprise. "Wow, these are stunning! Are toy gems really made this realistic now? They look even better than real ones!"
Dad leaned over to take a look at the gems and exclaimed in amazement, "Yeah, yeah! The craftsmanship is incredible!"
Xiao Zhuzi giggled but didn’t explain further. She knew these gems held all her memories and friendships from Little World; they were the most precious and unique treasures in existence.
"Absolutely no problem, sweetheart!" Mom smiled brightly. "Tomorrow I’ll take you to the jewelry store to pick out a suitable chain so we can make them into the most beautiful necklace."
"Thank you, Mom! I love you the most!" Xiao Zhuzi said happily, her eyes sparkling.
Late at night, Xiao Zhuzi lay in her familiar bed, gently stroking the two gemstones in her hand. The moonlight streamed through the window, casting a soft silver glow on her face. She closed her eyes softly, as if she could hear the laughter of Fei Bao, Xi Xi, and Hua Hua again, feeling their warm embraces.
She knew she was no longer the spoiled, willful, and tearful little girl she once was. No matter what challenges lay ahead, she would carry this courage and friendship with her as she continued her adventures in the big world.
Epilogue: The Final Prophecy of Hua Hua, A Friendship Regained!
A month slipped by quietly, and Xiao Zhuzi's life seemed to return to its usual rhythm. She joined the Nature Conservation Training Camp and became a little volunteer. The necklace made from the Hourglass Spiral Gem and Hua Hua Ruby remained close to her heart.
That morning, gentle sunlight filtered through the curtains, caressing Xiao Zhuzi's face. She slowly opened her eyes, her vision still a bit blurry. Suddenly, she felt something on the tip of her nose...
Xiao Zhuzi blinked and focused hard. A red ladybug appeared in her line of sight, perched right on her nose!
A familiar voice gently chimed in, "Long time no see, Xiao Zhuzi!"
