As soon as I heard those words, my heart sank, and I quickly shook my head in denial. "There’s no such thing! Please don’t say that, Mr. Li. I’m just an ordinary hunter; how could there be a fox spirit?" 0

Mr. Li, however, didn’t believe me at all. He waved his hand to his subordinates and commanded, "Search thoroughly! Find out where that seductive fox is hiding!" 0

His men immediately scattered, beginning to search through the woods. I was anxious and sweating profusely, thinking to myself, "If they find the Red Fox, it’ll be a huge problem." 0

Just then, I suddenly heard a low whimper that only I could hear, as if the Red Fox was warning me. Looking up, I saw the Red Fox hiding behind a nearby tree, nodding at me before turning and darting deeper into the woods. 0

"Mr. Li, there’s nothing here!" one of his men reported after searching around. 0

Yet Mr. Li was still unsatisfied. He looked at me with a cold smile and said, "Zhang Dashan, if you happen to encounter that creature, don’t forget to let me know. I’ve always wanted to catch one to play with." 0

After Mr. Li and his men left, the heavy stone in my heart felt like it would never settle. In a daze, I picked up my hunting bow and trudged toward home. 0

As I walked, my foot suddenly slipped, and I lost my balance, uncontrollably tumbling down the slope. 0

When I finally came to my senses, I found myself lying in a thicket with a sharp pain radiating from my calf. Gritting my teeth, I tried to stand up but discovered that a branch had cut a deep gash in my leg, blood flowing freely. 0

"Oh no, this is bad," I muttered bitterly to myself. It seemed that tonight I would have to make do with spending the night in this desolate wilderness. 0

Just when despair began to set in, a familiar whimper floated through the air. 0

I struggled to lift my head and saw the Red Fox standing not far away, its eyes filled with concern. 0

It looked at me and softly called out a few times, as if it were anxiously inquiring about my injuries. 0

"Don't worry, it's nothing serious; it's just that my leg won't move," I shouted at the Red Fox, feeling both surprised and grateful. "Can you help me find someone to lend a hand?" 0

I almost laughed at myself. Here I was, asking a fox to fetch help. Wasn't that like sending it straight into danger? I must have lost my mind. 0

But the Red Fox seemed to understand my words; it suddenly turned and dashed into the depths of the forest. 0

As I wondered where it had gone, a flash of red light appeared, and a woman dressed in red emerged before me. 0

She had a delicate face and lively eyes. Yet, looking at the aura radiating from her features, I recognized her instantly—this was none other than the Red Fox! 0

"You... you are the Red Fox?" I stammered in shock, my eyes wide as saucers. 0

The woman transformed from the Red Fox smiled gently, her lips curving slightly as she nodded: "Yes, it's me. Don't be afraid; I'm here to save you." 0

As soon as she finished speaking, she crouched down and gently raised her hand. A miraculous scene unfolded: although the pain remained, the wound on my calf began to slowly heal. 0

I stared at her in disbelief, my heart racing as I stuttered out, "How... how can you turn into a person?" 0
