Sitting in the back seat, Xiao Mei gleefully remarked that it was definitely because he was angry about being attacked indiscriminately, having had his leg broken in the process. 0

“Gunfire from the other side! I can’t just shout for you to duck while I go after him; that guy isn’t deaf.” In this critical moment, my mind was a chaotic mess, filled with all sorts of conjectures. 0

“He’s exhausted,” Shui Su suddenly interjected. “Not resisting might be because the other party drugged him. During the examination, both he and that nurse had a faint scent of the same drug.” 0

Song Bunan believed in the conclusion about drugging. After all, a seasoned fighter wouldn’t just stand there and take threats without retaliating unless they were being blackmailed or had fallen victim to underhanded tactics. 0

“But he’s ignoring me QAQ, not saying a word.” Song Bunan felt wronged and went around expressing his grievances. 0

“If I rush over and punch you, you’d be too mad to talk to me.” Xiao Mei clearly didn’t care about his feelings of injustice and delivered a heavy punch in response. 0

The international gesture of friendship never goes out of style. Taking advantage of the empty space between their seats, Song Bunan turned to Xiao Mei and returned the friendly greeting, prompting Shui Su to shake his head in disapproval. 0

“That drug relaxes the muscles, so even if he wanted to speak, he couldn’t.” 0

Wow! Hearing the answer he longed for put Song Bunan in high spirits as he leaned back against the chair, closing his eyes to rest. He began to contemplate what preparations he should make for his next visit here when he caught a strange flash of light in front of him. The glimmer was quick and small, instantly heightening his alertness. He discreetly messaged the group about the presence of cameras or something similar ahead. 0

How could there be such things in the Jiang Family's own vehicle? Xiao Mei was the first to react, moving forward to ask the driver if he could drop him off at the mall. Song Bunan closely observed how those around Xiao Mei reacted as he moved; one short-haired male nurse shrank back slightly, piquing his curiosity. 0

Sending coordinates, Xiao Mei took advantage of directing the driver to sneak a glance. Although still young, his fierce expression honed from years of missions was not something ordinary people could withstand. 0

Not everyone traveling with them had dealt with Xiao Mei before. Faced with his sudden aggression, the male nurse clearly wasn’t prepared for how to respond; he shrank back like a quail, afraid to move. 0

Xiao Mei wasn’t one to let it slide; he gestured for the person sitting next to him to move aside and took a seat himself. A miniature camera was retrieved; it was of good quality and bore the emblem of New Life Hospital on its back. 0

The male nurse hadn’t said a word throughout, and the accompanying doctor sister noticed that something was off. She walked over to Shui Su and quietly asked what was going on. 0

Jiang Shui Su, the legitimate heir of the Jiang Family, was known for being aloof but never acted impulsively. Anyone working under the Jiang Family knew they could seek help from him when faced with difficulties. His older sister had been at Jiang Family Hospital for quite some time and had a decent relationship with Shui Su. 0

“I suspect he has dealings with New Life Hospital; I just saw him filming us.” This statement made her older sister’s expression turn sour as she glared at the male nurse indignantly. She spoke seriously to Shui Su: “This kid just started working here recently and has only been officially employed for a couple of days. I’ll have Security Department investigate as soon as I get back.” 0

Those who had worked for the Jiang Family for a while generally held favorable views of this family. Their humane management allowed everyone to work happily; even in such a busy hospital environment, reasonable breaks were arranged. Being a private hospital meant benefits were exceptional as well. The older sister had long harbored thoughts of happily working and retiring here, so hearing about someone undermining their own from within filled her with outrage. 0

The car quickly stopped in front of Jiang Family Hospital. The Male Nurse was being pushed by the eldest sister and was immediately taken away by the Security Department personnel who rushed over. Accompanying them were Shui Su and Xiao Mei, both holding cameras to check the footage. 0

"Let the driver take you two home directly. It seems Xin Yi won't be clear-headed for a while. That kind of medication doesn't have many side effects; just let him rest well," Shui Su said, making sure to settle things with Song Bunan before moving on. The man waved from the car, telling them not to worry about him and to go handle their business. 0

Song Bunan also declined the driver's offer to take him home on the bus, opting instead to take a taxi back to his neighborhood. If it weren't for the strength he had built up over the years, carrying the dazed Xin Yi would not have been an easy task. 0

The taxi driver kept glancing at the groggy Xin Yi through the rearview mirror, looking troubled and hesitating to speak up. Noticing this, Song Bunan deliberately leaned over to support the slumping Xin Yi and said, "Ah—can you believe it? A healthy person like him gets a cold from just a little chill after taking some medicine. If I didn't have any strength left, I'd have to leave him on the street." 0

Though the driver still looked skeptical, he seemed much more relaxed now and tentatively picked up on Song Bunan's words, asking if his buddy had caught a cold. 0

"Isn't that right?" Song Bunan replied with a chuckle. "You see, we were out interning at a dormitory where the shower water fluctuates between hot and cold. I caught a cold right when I got there, and then he ended up catching it too after a long day. I gave him some medicine, but I didn't expect him to be so sensitive; he fell asleep before even finishing the meeting." 0

The driver's expression eased up, and he said cheerfully, "That just means he's healthy and doesn't rely on medicine much. Everyone gets drowsy from cold medicine; sleeping is what helps you recover faster! When we get to your neighborhood, I'll help you support him; I wouldn't want you to strain yourself with that small frame of yours." 0

With his good rapport, Song Bunan successfully saved himself some effort and even handed two bottles of drinks to the driver for the road. 0

Looking at Xin Yi lying on his bed at home, he felt happy. Not only did he go out for a trip but also returned with a partner—quite nice indeed. 0

With joy in his heart, he went to check what ingredients he had in his fridge for cooking. To his surprise, he found dumplings that his parents had sent over at some point, with a sticky note attached that read: 0

"Good good good! So you’re running around without notifying us, huh!" 0
