Zong Jin was in charge of ordering, while Wu Youyou played with her phone nearby. Zong Zeyu sat beside Tong Le, his gaze occasionally drifting away from her.
Tong Le was focused on her phone, finalizing details with Dao Wen. Once she received Dao Wen's approval, Tong Le hurriedly relayed the news to Zong Jin and Zong Zeyu. "Dao Wen agreed! Should I give you her WeChat? You can figure out a suitable time to meet."
Wu Youyou chimed in, "So she's the fake girlfriend you found for my brother-in-law, right? Is she trustworthy?"
Tong Le nodded. "Yes, she's reliable. She's thirty, just like Zong Zeyu, and she's beautiful and charming. She's great with people too. She runs a bar but is involved in various other businesses as well."
Wu Youyou's expression turned serious. "Are you sure this woman named Dao Wen is just helping out? What if she knows my brother-in-law's status and is trying to use the guise of a fake girlfriend to seduce him?"
Immediately, Wu Youyou linked her arm with Zong Jin's. "My brother-in-law is very naive when it comes to relationships! We can't let someone with ulterior motives take advantage of him!"
Tong Le felt slightly uncomfortable watching this scene. Although Zong Jin treated Wu Youyou like a sister, she couldn't see a clear boundary in Wu Youyou's words and demeanor.
"Don't worry," Tong Le reassured her. "Dao Wen has many suitors but has chosen to remain single. She's very serious about relationships and isn't the type to scheme for money or status. Plus, I had to plead with her all day before she agreed to this temporary girlfriend arrangement."
Suddenly, Zong Zeyu interjected with a hint of annoyance, "Why do you call my brother Zong Zong and me too?"
Tong Le quickly responded, "Then from now on, I'll call your brother Dazong Zong and you Little Zong."
Zong Zeyu turned his head with a serious expression. "Why should I be the little one?"
If it weren't for maintaining appearances, Tong Le would have wanted to retort at Zong Zeyu for being unreasonable.
With a professional smile plastered on her face, she asked, "So how should I address you then?"
Zong Jin chuckled from across the table. "You can just call us by our names. If we meet at the company later on, we can distinguish between Big Xiao Zong and Little Xiao Zong that way; employees do it too."
Zong Zeyu munched on some appetizers while grumbling, "I’m not being called the little one."
Tong Le maintained her smile but gritted her teeth. "Fine then, I’ll call you Super Dazong Zong. Is that okay?"
Zong Zeyu couldn't help but chuckle. "Alright, I'll give you that one."
At that moment, Wu Youyou's phone rang; it was Lan Qingqing.
Wu Youyou answered the call and intentionally put it on speakerphone. Lan Qingqing's voice came through. "Wu Youyou, are you still at the company? I just knocked on Dazong Zong's office door and found it locked! Didn't you say I should stay late?"
Feigning innocence, Wu Youyou raised her voice slightly. "Oh? Did I tell you to stay late? Sorry, I completely forgot! I've already left the company! Hurry up and get off work; it's so late that public transport will be gone soon!"
On the other end of the line, Lan Qingqing paused for two seconds—those two seconds were enough to nearly make her explode with anger!
"Don't worry, I have a car. I can drive myself," Lan Qingqing said, trying to sound casual.
Wu Youyou rolled her eyes at her phone and hung up abruptly. "Can you believe this? That Lan Qingqing was just bullying me today. But once she found out my brother-in-law is Zong Jin, she immediately started begging for mercy. Look at that! I intentionally made her work overtime, and she still has the nerve to thank me for my concern. I've never met such a hypocritical woman!"
Tong Le looked surprised. "Lan Qingqing bullied you?"
Wu Youyou nodded vigorously. "Yeah, do you know her?"
Zong Zeyu smirked at the exchange. "Lan Qingqing against Wu Youyou? Now that's an interesting matchup."
Wu Youyou was curious. "What's the story there? It seems like you two know each other better than I do!"
Zong Zeyu gestured for Wu Youyou to ask Tong Le directly about it.
