After following Zong Zeyu's car for about twenty minutes, it finally stopped near a park. Tong Le and Dao Wen got out, and Dao Wen couldn't help but wonder, "A park? Did the land your father left you turn into a park?"
Just as they stepped out, Zong Zeyu approached Tong Le. As she was about to express her confusion, he grabbed her shoulder and turned her around, pointing to an archway across the street from the park. Inside was a sea of flowers.
Dao Wen followed Zong Zeyu's gaze and saw a vast expanse of blooming flowers, vibrant like a rainbow. Surrounding the flower field were small colorful wooden houses, resembling a fairy tale world.
Tong Le was in disbelief. Is this really the land my father left me? A whole sea of flowers?
Overwhelmed by the sight before her, Tong Le instinctively started walking towards the flowers. Zong Zeyu quickly grabbed her wrist and reminded her to be careful of the traffic.
As Tong Le turned her head, tears welled up in her eyes. She didn't even know why she was crying; perhaps it was because this was the surprise her father had left for her—the only one that hadn’t been taken away by Ke Wenjie.
Once the three of them entered the flower field, they realized it wasn't open to the public for free; it was a paid flower farm. The small colorful wooden houses around were residences for the flower farmers.
This place had been developed and transformed by Zong Zeyu three years ago. It beautified the cityscape, prevented the land from being abandoned, and most importantly, it was meant to give Tong Le a surprise.
The revenue from entrance fees was just enough to support the normal operation of the flower farm.
Tong Le ran into the flower field, feeling as if she had entered a paradise. It was beautiful and serene, filled with vibrant flowers and lush greenery, with birds soaring in flocks overhead.
In this city where every inch of land is precious, such an excellent location could have been commercialized or turned into residential buildings, yet it had become a flower field—anyone would think that was unreasonable.
Zong Zeyu and Dao Wen stood on the path outside the flower field. Watching Tong Le frolicking among the flowers, Dao Wen remarked, "This little one hasn't been this happy in a long time. I thought the property you mentioned would be a construction site filled with steel and concrete or a prime piece of vacant land."
Dao Wen chuckled, "You have such a business-like aura about you, yet you've done something so uncommercial."
Zong Zeyu enjoyed watching Tong Le from a distance; as long as she was happy, that was enough for him.
Dao Wen turned her head and said, "You like Tong Le. Why don't you tell her?"
Zong Zeyu felt slightly uncomfortable at being so bluntly called out, but it did fit Dao Wen's straightforward personality.
He smiled and replied, "Is it that obvious?"
Dao Wen said, "I can't find another reason to explain everything you've done for her—helping manage property worth billions without taking advantage of it, instead creating this dazzling flower sea just to make her smile."
Dao Wen shook her head helplessly. "Only that slow-witted little fool would never think about romantic feelings. If I were in your position, I'd just assume that person loves me to madness."
Zong Zeyu felt somewhat disheartened; all she thought was that he appeared to be just a wealthy young man with no place to spend his money.
Dao Wen turned to face Zong Zeyu again. With her tall stature and black high heels, she matched his presence quite well. She extended her hand towards him politely and formally introduced herself. "I'm Dao Wen, a bar owner and Tong Le's close friend for many years. From today on, you're my trusted friend too. Thank you for your kindness and care towards Tong Le during this time. Without you standing behind her to help deal with all this mess, it would have been me."
Zong Zeyu smiled as he touched Dao Wen's hand lightly and replied courteously, "You're welcome. There are some things I simply wanted to do for her—not to help anyone else."
Dao Wen paused, continuing to gaze at Tong Le in the distance. She murmured to herself that Tong Le had once been cheerful and innocent, but she had encountered the wrong people and had not been cared for properly. Dao Wen had once held great admiration for her father; like him, Tong Le was kind-hearted, straightforward, and generous to her friends, willing to go to great lengths for them. Unfortunately, she had suffered greatly in the lessons of love.
