Hou Yi was choked by Tong Le's audacity; never had anyone dared to respond to him in such a bold manner, firing back one message after another, leaving him at a loss for words. 0

At that moment, Hou Yi was slumped on the sofa in his office, his leg in a cast propped up on the edge of the coffee table, looking utterly defeated as he stared at his phone screen, racking his brain for a suitable reply. He typed out a line of text, carefully considering his words, but felt it lacked impact. He deleted it and started over. 0

Just as he was about to hit send, a new message from Tong Le popped up in the chat: "President Hou, are you writing me an essay? It seems you’re trying to justify yourself with all sorts of twisted logic. If you truly want to prove your emotional stability, then cancel the collaboration and return my bracelet! I really can’t understand why I saved your life only to be met with your unreasonable demands." 0

Hou Yi was on the verge of exploding. He let out a roar in his office, startling his female secretary who rushed in. 0

Seeing that Hou Yi was merely venting on the sofa, she felt awkward and asked, "President Hou, are you alright?" 0

Hou Yi ignored her and continued typing to Tong Le: "What kind of game are you playing? Did you even read the contract? I helped you earn an extra million in profits, and now you're talking about canceling the contract? Just half an hour ago, your husband agreed to sign! Now you're trying to play innocent after benefiting from me?" 0

Tong Le replied: "That was Ke Wenjie’s decision, not mine. He has no idea I saved you; he’s just greedy and only cares about his own gain. But I never intended to take advantage of anyone; I believe in mutual benefit for both parties to move forward. Yet you treat this transaction like a favor or think your life is only worth a million in profit?" 0

In an instant, Hou Yi threw his phone across the room. He had encountered many irritating people before, but never anyone this infuriating! Back when Tong Le was in his office, he should have thrown her out of the window to teach her a lesson! 0

The female secretary quietly walked over to pick up the phone; thankfully, it had survived the fall. She handed it back to Hou Yi cautiously. "President Hou..." 0

His phone vibrated continuously as he looked at the messages on the screen: 0

Tong Le: "I know President Hou means well, but favors aren’t calculated this way. If it requires one party to suffer losses for the sake of a favor exchange, then I’d rather not proceed with this deal." 0

Tong Le: "I hope President Hou can reconsider and negotiate with Tongshan Real Estate at normal market prices; I would welcome that." 0

Tong Le: "If President Hou doesn’t want to owe me anything, just return my bracelet and we’ll be even." 0

Hou Yi watched helplessly as the conversation shifted from him being in control to Tong Le gaining the upper hand. He had never been toyed with like this by any woman before! However, through their back-and-forth exchange, he gained some insight into Tong Le and sensed that her relationship with Ke Wenjie wasn’t good. 0

Hou Yi sent: "Are you trying to get yourself killed?" 0

Tong Le replied: "Look at you, starting to lose it again. Fine, if you don’t want to return my bracelet, then don’t. It’s not like I can take it back by force; I’ve experienced the bloody consequences of that before! As for our companies’ collaboration, I’ve made my stance clear. Whether or not we continue is up to you, President Hou; after all, I can’t interfere or change your mind about Ke Wenjie." 0

Hou Yi prepared to send another message but was met with a red exclamation mark. 0

He had been blocked by Tong Le. 0

With another roar of frustration, he nearly leaped off the sofa in madness. He felt like he was losing his mind; he wanted to kill someone—specifically Tong Le—imagining her head as a soccer ball he could kick around. But with his leg in a cast, all he could do was fantasize about smashing her head against a walnut! 0

He raised his hand and flung the phone away, and the Female Secretary obediently picked it up. This time, the screen was finally shattered. 0

"Be careful, President Hou. Do you need me to get the phone repaired?" she asked. 0

Hou Yi's face was filled with anger; repairing the phone was not important, nor was changing the contract terms. At that moment, there was only one thing that mattered to him. 0

The Female Secretary glanced at Hou Yi's expression cautiously. "President Hou, is there anything you need me to do?" 0
