Upon learning the truth about the house being resold, Tong Le was stunned for a long time. She remembered the appearance of the elderly couple; although they were aging, their relationship was strong, and they still had plenty of energy. She recalled that when they sold the house, they were very satisfied with its decor and layout, even mentioning plans to create a small garden on the balcony. They were people who loved life, so why did they pass away so soon after buying the house? And one after another? 0

As Tong Le pondered the reasons, she felt a chill spreading through her body. It was a muggy summer day, and the office air conditioning wasn't set high, yet she felt cold—an internal chill that seemed to seep from within. 0

Instinctively, she sent a message to the real estate agent, Xiao Wu: "Xiao Wu, when you have time, I’d like to check on the current state of the house. Is that possible?" 0

Xiao Wu replied, "Of course, Miss Tong. The owner's son has already given me the keys; you can view it anytime. Perhaps because this house has an unfortunate history, the owner's son mentioned that unless it's absolutely necessary, he doesn't want to be contacted about buying or selling. He said he doesn't want to come back here; it makes him too sad." 0

Tong Le responded, "I understand. Thank you." 0

Xiao Wu then asked, "Miss Tong, are you considering buying this house back? If you purchase it now, you would actually be making a profit." 0

Tong Le replied, "I'll first check on the condition of the house and contact you afterward." 0

After sending the message, Tong Le remained lost in thought for a while. She had an ominous premonition that she couldn't quite place—a feeling as if some invisible sixth sense or spirit was guiding her toward that direction. She felt compelled to see that house; she believed there might be some connection between the deaths of the New House's owners and her own parents. 0

Taking initiative, Tong Le sent a message to Zong Zeyu asking for help: "Can you accompany me to do something tomorrow? I’m not sure I can go alone." 0

Later that night at seven o'clock, Dao Wen left Zhou Zishuo's parents' home with Zhou Zishuo by her side. Standing outside her building, Dao Wen said, "You should head back now and chat with your uncle and aunt." 0

Suddenly remembering something, Dao Wen asked, "By the way, what were you and your uncle and aunt talking about in the kitchen this afternoon? I noticed you had the door closed; it seemed rather mysterious." 0

Zhou Zishuo scratched his head and smiled shyly. "Oh, it was nothing—just some trivial matters." 0

Dao Wen patted Zhou Zishuo on the shoulder. "We’ll take our time with starting up the distillery business. Don’t worry about it; I’ll handle the finances without needing your concern. Now that Zhou Ting is working at Zong Group, I can’t really manage her anyway. But I’m glad to have you by my side as we venture into entrepreneurship together." 0

Zhou Zishuo’s eyes sparkled with determination. "I will always be by your side! I'm not like that ungrateful Zhou Ting." 0

Dao Wen chuckled lightly. "Alright then, let’s head back. I’ll just take a taxi home; you can keep my car for your errands tomorrow." 0

Zhou Zishuo hesitated to leave; he followed Dao Wen to the entrance of her neighborhood because he wanted to see her safely into her car. 0

Just as they reached the roadside, Zhou Zishuo noticed an exceptionally luxurious dark-colored private car—a Rolls Royce worth several million. Such high-end vehicles rarely appeared near their neighborhood. 0

A sense of unease crept over Zhou Zishuo as he recognized a familiar figure stepping out of the luxury car—Zong Jin. 0

It’s true what they say: clothes make the man. In the past, Zhou Zishuo thought of Zong Jin as just an arrogant young man who only appeared distinguished because of his wealth. But now he looked imposing and dignified; even their shabby neighborhood seemed elevated in his presence. 0

Zhou Zishuo felt a wave of defeat wash over him. As a man himself, he understood what men typically valued: cars and watches—but above all else was their beloved woman. 0

He felt inadequate; he knew Zong Jin was there to see Dao Wen and realized that given his current circumstances, he couldn’t provide Dao Wen with those material comforts she might desire. 0

Seeing Zong Jin approaching, Dao Wen smiled brightly and confidently. "Zong Zong? What brings you here? How did you find this place?" 0

The moment Zong Jin laid eyes on Dao Wen, especially her effortless grace and poise, his heart trembled. He was always captivated by the little qualities she possessed. 0

Suppressing the flutter in his heart, Zong Jin feigned calmness. "Zhou Ting is working at Zong Group. I ran into her at the office today and casually asked where you were. She gave me this address." 0

He gestured towards his car. "Let me give you a ride home; it's on the way." 0

Dao Wen chuckled lightly. "On the way? This place is in the opposite direction from Zong Group." 0

Not intending to be polite, she turned to Zhou Zishuo and said, "I'm heading back now. Since Zong Zong is offering me a ride, it would be rude not to accept." 0

Zhou Zishuo couldn't muster a smile. Sending his beloved woman into the jaws of a wolf made him wish for nothing more than for Zong Jin's car to get a flat tire right then and there! 0

He could only hold back his frustration. "Just message me when you get home." 0

Dao Wen got into Zong Jin's car while he took the wheel. 0

As Dao Wen settled into the passenger seat and fastened her seatbelt, she smiled and said, "I thought it would be a driver driving me; I appreciate your effort, Zong Zong." 0

Zong Jin drove in silence. He was naturally quiet, and as the car moved slowly, he noticed Dao Wen yawning twice in quick succession. He spoke softly, "If you're tired, go ahead and sleep. I'll wake you when we arrive." 0
