Lan Qingqing was terrified. The medical staff hurried outside to stop the commotion, only to hear a ruckus about a pregnant woman who had given birth to a two-headed monster, with another head growing from its backside. Reporters flocked to the scene, eager to report this bizarre news.
Lan Qingqing felt like she was going crazy. She covered her face, trying to prevent the onlookers from taking pictures.
Mo Kai Liang, however, had calmed down a bit. He looked at the reporters outside; this was a private hospital, and only those with connections could get in. The security downstairs was not to be trifled with; they wouldn’t allow these people to carry their equipment upstairs so brazenly. If this hospital was indeed under Ke Wenjie’s influence, then these reporters must have been sent by him. But how could they have found the ward so easily and learned about the two-headed monster in such a short time?
Mo Kai Liang grabbed a mop from inside the room and swung it fiercely toward the door, deliberately aiming for the reporters' expensive camera equipment. He targeted the most valuable items, knowing he could afford it now. He would not allow his woman to be humiliated!
Meanwhile, at an outdoor warehouse.
As the sun set, the scenery outside was serene and pleasant, with a gentle evening breeze that felt comfortable and relaxed.
Hou Yi's car stopped at the entrance of the warehouse, and Sun Hu hurried forward to greet him.
The warehouse doors were wide open, and people were coming in and out. A whole disinfection team dressed in blue protective suits was processing the scene. A few individuals were carrying disinfection equipment and spraying it around the warehouse.
Hou Yi had no intention of entering the warehouse; he exchanged a knowing glance with Sun Hu.
Sun Hu immediately understood. "Don’t worry, brother. Everything here has been cleaned up. All five bodies have been taken care of; we’re currently disinfecting. We’ll lay down another layer of cement tomorrow or the day after—no one will notice."
Leaning against his car, Hou Yi took out a cigarette case, and Sun Hu quickly stepped forward to light it for him.
Hou Yi asked, "How did they die?"
Sun Hu explained, "The first to die was that old driver. Then came his wife, followed by their grandson, then their daughter-in-law, and finally their son Zhao Qing."
Hou Yi sneered. "So, the one who shouted the loudest back then was the last to die."
Sun Hu nodded repeatedly. Zhao Qing was indeed the last to die—he starved to death. Initially, the old man died of illness; after that, Zhao Qing's family started eating him out of desperation. They managed for a few days until the meat rotted and became inedible. They endured for another couple of days until Zhao Qing couldn’t bear seeing his grandson suffer from hunger anymore; he killed his wife with her consent.
Hou Yi chuckled mockingly. "And then? Did Zhao Qing and his wife eat their child?"
Sun Hu grimaced, struggling to explain further. "Zhao Qing got into an argument with his wife; he wanted to kill her and eat her flesh, but she refused. They both stayed awake at night in a standoff until finally, Zhao Qing couldn’t hold out any longer and changed his mind—he killed his son instead and started eating him. After some time of that, Zhao Qing’s wife lost her sanity and became useless; he ended up killing her too and ate her as well. In the end, Zhao Qing himself couldn’t take it anymore and starved to death."
After recounting this grim tale, Sun Hu began to question humanity itself. "Brother, is this even human? This is just beastly! Zhao Qing ate his father, mother, son, and wife—all just to hold on for a chance that was impossible!"
Hou Yi laughed heartily with a sinister tone. "Since ancient times, this has always been an eat-or-be-eaten society! The strong consume the weak; big fish eat small fish; men devour women; strong men feast on the elderly."
Sun Hu felt increasingly nauseated as he thought about it. "You didn’t see that scene—I swear I’m traumatized."
Casually, Hou Yi asked about Zong Caishan's whereabouts. "Once we finish dealing with these expendable pawns, we should pay a visit to our mastermind behind all this."
