Lan Qingqing returned home in a disheveled state, having endured mockery and criticism along the way. A foul odor clung to her, and her clothes were nearly dry from the ordeal.
The sound of a baby crying echoed from the bedroom. Mo Kai Liang was absent, and the nanny was busy soothing the child. The incessant wailing irritated Lan Qingqing, who rushed into the room, ready to smash the strange-looking baby on the floor.

Lan Qingqing collapsed into Mo Kai Liang's arms as he tried to comfort her. His mind took a moment to process everything she had said; he began to understand the tangled web of events unfolding around them.
As he patted her back, he felt a growing fear himself—Ke Wenjie had indeed gotten involved with Ying Rong Xiao, and everything seemed to have changed in an instant.
"Tomorrow we’ll go for your check-up," he assured her. "I’ll contact the hospital and doctors right now."

Gritting her teeth, she thought of ways to make Ke Wenjie suffer like his mother Zhang Huizhi did—slowly poisoned until death! She couldn’t let him live; as long as he was alive, she was in danger!
"Please help me!" she cried out frantically.
Mo Kai Liang guided her to the sofa where she curled up in a corner. If this continued, it wouldn’t be long before Lan Qingqing lost her sanity. Even with all his wealth, he knew these problems couldn’t be solved easily.
The next morning, Mo Kai Liang took Lan Qingqing to the hospital for a series of tests. Each result brought more despair; her health was riddled with issues, including a blood disorder.
The hospital recommended that Lan Qingqing be hospitalized for observation, but she felt that the doctor was exaggerating for profit since she didn’t feel any severe discomfort—just fatigue and occasional pain from cosmetic surgery wounds that could be alleviated with painkillers.
As they waited for a few final tests, Lan Qingqing grew impatient. She grabbed Mo Kai Liang's arm and urged him to get something to eat; they hadn’t had breakfast yet.
At that moment, a doctor called her into his office. The results revealed that she was missing a kidney.
Upon hearing this news, it felt as if the sky had fallen on Lan Qingqing. Initially skeptical about such a possibility—after all, this was a lawful society where organ theft seemed unimaginable—her heart sank deeper with each passing second.
