Lan Qingqing had spent quite some time contacting several old friends and colleagues before finally learning the exact location of Tong Le. She discovered that Tong Le was at the Business Club with Jin Zi Meng, and immediately instructed Mo Kai Liang to drive her there. 0

Lan Qingqing had been standing by the roadside for a while when she saw Tong Le walk out alone. Tong Le lingered at the entrance of the club, chatting about something that Lan Qingqing couldn’t quite hear. 0

With a hint of pride still intact, Lan Qingqing approached Tong Le, not fully letting her guard down. 0

Tong Le stopped in her tracks, and Zong Zeyu instinctively stepped in front of her, ready to protect her from any potential trouble that Lan Qingqing might cause. 0

“It’s fine,” Tong Le said, “I don’t think she’s here to start anything.” 0

Lan Qingqing glanced at Zong Zeyu and then at the few people standing beside Tong Le. Outnumbered and aware that she wasn’t there to cause trouble, she decided against involving Mo Kai Liang, who was still in the car. 0

“Can we talk privately for a moment?” Lan Qingqing asked. “I have something personal I want to discuss with you.” 0

Jiang Zhichao was the first to object. “Why should we talk here? Who knows what you’re up to! It’s late at night, and you somehow found this place. Are you planting spies in our company again?” 0

Lan Qingqing shot Jiang Zhichao an annoyed look. “Am I talking to you? I’m speaking with Tong Le! Yes! I did plant a spy in your company—it's you, Jiang Zhichao!” 0

Jiang Zhichao felt insulted and quickly defended himself. “You’re crazy! Who’s your spy?” 0

He grabbed Tong Le’s arm urgently. “Don’t listen to her nonsense! She’s not right in the head!” 0

Tong Le felt a headache coming on from all the noise. She didn’t think Lan Qingqing was there to pick a fight; it seemed like she genuinely had something urgent to discuss. 0

“Why don’t you all get in the car?” Tong Le suggested. “I’ll talk with her here; if anything happens, you can see it.” 0

She exchanged glances with Zong Zeyu, signaling him to go ahead. 0

Zong Zeyu wasn’t worried about Lan Qingqing causing trouble; after all, he was right there beside his wife, so everything should be fine. 0

Standing by the roadside next to Lan Qingqing, Tong Le leaned against a marble flowerbed. 0

Lan Qingqing pulled out a wet tissue from her bag and wiped the blood and pus from her ear. The elf ears she had gotten were not very well done, and the wound was still inflamed. 0

“You didn’t seem surprised when you saw me just now,” Lan Qingqing began. “Do I look that bad?” 0

Tong Le looked at Lan Qingqing’s refined features. Having seen her photos on social media before, she had prepared herself somewhat; however, she had to admit that Lan Qingqing didn’t look as good as before. 0

Lan Qingqing scoffed. “You really know how to throw shade. Everyone else says I look worse after surgery, but your words cut deeper—saying I looked better before my surgery? You really know how to push my buttons!” 0

Tong Le chuckled helplessly. “So what? You’re filled with jealousy and hatred; all you can see is jealousy and hatred. I just genuinely think you looked better before your surgery—I didn’t mean anything else by it.” 0

Lan Qingqing paused for a moment. If it weren’t for Tong Le’s comment, she might have forgotten that they used to be best friends. Tong Le had witnessed her school days—the purest and most youthful time of her life. 0

Indeed, compared to back then, it seemed that not having surgery might have been better since she was younger during that time. 0

Lan Qingqing tossed the wet tissue into the flowerbed, and Tong Le frowned instinctively at the action, feeling quite displeased. 0

Lan Qingqing spoke up, "There's something I want to discuss with you." 0
