The next day, at Zong Group. 0

In the office, Tong Le and Dao Wen were reviewing the supplier list. Zong Zeyu and Zong Jin were out for a meeting and wouldn't return until the following day. 0

Dao Wen watched Tong Le diligently working and felt a bit lazy himself. "From the looks of it, Zong Zeyu treats you like a laborer, assigning you all the important tasks of the company. You really are obedient; he hands you these jobs, and you just get to it. You’re practically a future lady of the house, yet here you are, stuck in the office every day, verifying data and occasionally attending meetings or meeting clients. I can't even tell if you're part of Zong Group or Tongshan Real Estate." 0

Tong Le organized the documents into categories. "I'm just helping out. Before, my aunt introduced me to many big bosses and clients, saying I should take over this and that. I can't let them down. Jiang Zhichao is holding up well on the Tongshan Real Estate side; he's focused on work and is doing the job of three people." 0

Dao Wen replied, "Jiang Zhichao really made a good choice aligning with your family. He hit the jackpot; look at all the wealth and glory that has come his way." 0

Tong Le said, "Don't just talk about me; you married Zong Jin and are already a wealthy lady yourself. It seems your mind is more on romance than work lately!" 0

Dao Wen covered her mouth and laughed. "After all that hard work I put in before, can’t I take a little break?" 0

Suddenly remembering something, Dao Wen added, "Oh right! I received an international package yesterday from Zhou Feng's wife. It contained some small gifts and local specialties, along with a handwritten letter from her. She expressed great respect for my past with Zhou Feng and invited me to visit them. She also mentioned that their family business is currently collaborating with a tech company in China and invited me to join them when they travel here." 0

Tong Le asked tentatively, "Are you planning to write back?" 0

Dao Wen shrugged. "If she took the time to send a handwritten letter, it shows she’s sincere. I'm not petty; I got Zhou Ting's contact information so we could add each other as friends. For now, we're just ordinary friends, which is nice since we all have our own lives. I need to start my new life too." 0

Just then, there was a knock at the office door; it was the secretary. 0

The secretary entered with a disheveled Lan Qingqing trailing behind her. 0

Tong Le turned to the secretary and said, "Please prepare some tea—Ying Cha." 0

As the secretary went to prepare the tea, Lan Qingqing entered the room hunched over, her eyes downcast and looking both timid and pitiful. 0

Tong Le gestured for Lan Qingqing to take a seat but noticed that she walked unsteadily as if she could barely keep her balance. 0

Exchanging glances with Dao Wen, Tong Le spoke up, "Did you not sleep at all last night? You look terrible." 0

Lan Qingqing sat on the sofa but seemed tense. She clasped her hands into fists resting on her legs, her eyelids drooping. "Tong Le, can you help me? I don't have better medical resources available; I don't know what's wrong with my body. I feel like I'm a walking corpse." 0

Lan Qingqing lifted her head and opened her eyes, revealing bloodshot irises as tears streamed down her face. "When I got home last night, my eyes felt uncomfortable. After sleeping for a while and waking up again, I couldn't see anything! I just came from the hospital, but the doctor couldn't find any cause for my condition! I don’t understand how I went blind overnight!" 0

Tong Le and Dao Wen exchanged shocked expressions. 0

Dao Wen couldn't help but speak up, "It can't be from crying too much! Lan Qingqing, didn't you say you had cosmetic surgery at Ying Rong Xiao? Did you have something done to your eyes?" 0

Lan Qingqing nodded helplessly, breaking down in despair. "Yes, but they refuse to admit it!" 0
