In search of a method to Reinforce the Seal, Lin Yu and the experts returned to the manor once more. Following clues from ancient texts, they conducted an in-depth exploration of various corners of the estate. In the garden, they stumbled upon a long-forgotten stone tablet, covered in mysterious symbols. However, just as they were about to proceed with the ritual according to the tablet's guidance, an unexpected situation arose. Strange phenomena began occurring in the town; eerie lights flickered across the sky, and the ground occasionally trembled slightly. The residents fell into a state of panic, with rumors swirling—some claimed it was the wrath of deities, while others feared an impending apocalypse. Lin Yu realized that this was a sign of the mysterious power spiraling out of control, and they needed to act quickly.
During the preparations for the ritual, Lin Yu noticed some unusual behavior from the butler, Old Zhang. He seemed to deliberately avoid others, his eyes betraying a hint of anxiety and unease. Suspicious, Lin Yu decided to observe Old Zhang discreetly. Finally, one night, he followed Old Zhang as he stealthily entered the manor's basement. This person was likely responsible for instigating family strife and causing fires.
Lin Yu realized that things were far more complicated than they had imagined. They not only had to deal with the loss of control over the mysterious power but also prevent someone from exploiting it to create greater disasters. With this new discovery in hand, he and Old Zhang hurried to meet with the experts. After much discussion, they decided to complete the Reinforce the Seal ritual first before investigating this hidden conspiracy.
On a moonlit night, Lin Yu and the experts held a solemn Reinforce the Seal ceremony at the center of the manor according to the tablet's instructions. As the ritual progressed, it seemed that the mysterious power was being restrained in some way, and the abnormal phenomena in town gradually subsided. Using his keen observation skills, Lin Yu spotted several faint footprints on the ground and leaves knocked down by the shadow—these traces became their clues for tracking. They followed these leads all the way to a back door of the manor, which stood ajar; clearly, this was how the shadow had escaped.
