Upon leaving the manor, they found themselves surrounded by a dense forest. Lin Yu hesitated for a moment but ultimately decided to enter the woods to continue the pursuit. The air was thick with damp mist, and moonlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, creating an eerie atmosphere. The group moved cautiously, frequently glancing around in vigilance. Suddenly, a faint rustling sound came from ahead, as if someone was running. Lin Yu immediately signaled for silence and quickened his pace toward the source of the noise.
Deep within the forest, they finally caught sight of the shadowy figure. The figure had its back to them, engrossed in flipping through the stolen ancient texts. Lin Yu quietly circled around to the back of the shadow, preparing to launch a surprise attack. Just as he was about to get close, the figure seemed to sense danger and abruptly turned around, revealing a dagger that had appeared in its hand. In the moonlight, the dagger gleamed coldly, reflecting the sinister features of the shadow.
"Hand over the ancient texts!" Lin Yu shouted angrily. The shadow let out a cold laugh in response: "You think you can stop me? This ancient text is mine for the taking; it will grant me endless power!" With that, the shadow swung the dagger and lunged at Lin Yu. He sidestepped effortlessly, avoiding the attack. Seizing the opportunity, he kicked at the shadow's wrist, causing the dagger to clatter to the ground.
However, the shadow did not panic. It quickly pulled out a smoke bomb from its pocket and hurled it to the ground. Instantly, white smoke enveloped them, obscuring their vision. By the time the smoke cleared, the shadow had vanished without a trace. Frustrated, Lin Yu stomped his foot and picked up the dagger from the ground, examining it closely. The hilt bore a strange symbol that resembled an emblem of some kind of organization.
Back at the manor, Lin Yu and Officer Li began investigating this symbol. They contacted the police intelligence department and consulted scholars who studied mysterious organizations. After considerable effort, they finally made some progress. It turned out that this symbol belonged to a legendary evil organization that had been seeking various mysterious powers in an attempt to dominate the world. For years, this organization had lurked in darkness, secretly plotting various schemes.
Upon learning this news, Lin Yu's determination to retrieve the ancient texts grew even stronger. He and Officer Li devised a detailed plan to investigate known hideouts of the evil organization. Over the next few days, they scoured for clues. Eventually, they discovered a suspicious location—an abandoned factory on the outskirts of town. Intelligence indicated that some members of the evil organization frequently visited there.
Under cover of night, Lin Yu and Officer Li led a team of officers to quietly surround the abandoned factory. They cautiously infiltrated its interior but found it empty. However, in one corner of the factory, they discovered items related to the ancient texts and a blueprint filled with strange symbols. Lin Yu realized that this could very well be a temporary research base for the evil organization regarding the ancient texts. They carefully studied the blueprint and found it marked what seemed to be a mysterious location—likely where the ancient texts were hidden.
Holding the blueprint in his hands, Lin Yu felt a surge of anticipation. He knew that an even more intense confrontation was on the horizon. But he was unafraid; for the sake of protecting his town's peace and uncovering the truth behind this conspiracy, he would give it his all.
