Jiangjiazui claimed that he would no longer investigate or participate in any matters related to the laboratory, but he didn’t say he would stop watching. Upon learning that other families were not only sending personnel but also funding many members of former falcon to assist, he quickly established connections to secure himself a viewing seat, under the pretense of observing from a distance in case they needed assistance in an emergency. 0

When Song Bunan arrived, footage had already been transmitted back from the front-line personnel's cameras. Many participants were dressed in matching uniforms and wore special badges that identified them. Not only was Song Bunan surprised, but even Xiao Mei marveled at how quickly they had prepared everything, sensing something was amiss. 0

The suddenness of this operation was astonishing; how could they have organized so many uniform and specialized items in just two days? Song Bunan was puzzled, and Xiao Mei shrugged, indicating she didn’t understand either. Uncle Meng chimed in, explaining, “Each family had been preparing since we took action. The uniforms were easy to arrange, and as for those special badges, they were discussed with us at the time and had been kept in reserve until now.” 0

“These badges register the user’s identity information before use and include heart rate monitoring. If something goes wrong, they can directly sync life data to the backend, making it clear whether someone is alive or dead.” The family head leisurely walked in, sat on the sofa, and explained to them. 0

Upon hearing this, Song Bunan scoffed, questioning why they hadn’t used them last time; if they had, perhaps their teammate wouldn’t have been killed by the laboratory. The family head smiled slightly at his complaint and mentioned that last time Shui Su had requested not to use them. 0

Oh right, where was Shui Su? Song Bunan realized that since he had been brought here, he hadn’t seen her at all. Xiao Mei shook her head while sipping her milk tea, stating that the big shot had taken an urgent mission and left without even bringing her phone, completely unreachable. 0

Shui Su being on a mission at this time clearly indicated that preparations for the final intervention were underway below. But what exactly did they want to achieve? Unable to guess the intentions of the higher-ups, Song Bunan could only curl up with Xiao Mei under a blanket on the sofa, eating snacks while watching the live broadcast. The family head was indeed busy; despite just sitting down to say he could spare a moment to watch, he was called away before even taking a sip of tea. 0

Eventually, only the two of them remained in the room. Initially focused on the shaky and unclear footage, they were anxious not to miss any details. However, it took over two hours for those people to travel from their departure point to the Gu Family's gate. They were jolted awake from their half-asleep state by a loud commotion as the footage showed them trying to open the Gu Family's gate. 0

The Gu Family Old Residence had built its walls about thirty or forty years ago amidst disputes in the city due to its vast area—roughly one-tenth of the city’s total area was encompassed within it. It was unclear how they negotiated with others at that time, but eventually, the walls were successfully erected, officially claiming a large territory for the Gu Family. 0

Song Bunan recalled his grandfather saying that the Gu Family was among the first families to settle in Rongcheng. From humble beginnings with just a few small houses, they had expanded significantly; it could be said that forty percent of Rongcheng’s development was thanks to them. However, as other families rose to prominence later on, the Gu Family became less competitive and faded from glory. Nevertheless, their territory remained impressive; numerous structures surrounded their original old house—all belonging to their own people. His grandfather once knew people from the Gu Family and played around their buildings all day long when he was young. 0

It was rumored that the Gu Family was highly cautious and had constructed numerous traps within their walls; if an unknowing thief ventured inside, they would either die or suffer greatly. The grand entrance was said to be impenetrable if locked from within; even explosives wouldn’t suffice to open it. 0

However, those rumors were false. In the footage, after several failed attempts using ordinary methods to open the door, they opted for explosives. A small bomb was affixed around the door frame; with a series of loud explosions echoing through the air, the heavy and ornate door collapsed entirely onto the ground, kicking up clouds of dust. 0

"This commotion seems to be a way of making sure everyone knows they’re up to something," Xiao Mei remarked. Song Bunan felt a sense of helplessness as well. Although most people in the city had a deep-seated fear and disdain for the laboratory, those gathered outside were unaware of its connection to the Gu Family. Their loud and ostentatious entrance was no different from announcing to everyone that they were about to raid someone’s home. 0

He told Xiao Mei that being so high-profile was not wise, to which she replied that it would certainly cause quite a stir in the city. 0

The Gu Family Old Residence was situated in a unique location, flanked by two bustling main streets. With such a loud explosion at the entrance, many curious onlookers had gathered, especially when they saw so many people in uniform standing in front of the damaged gate. Their curiosity peaked, driving them closer to see what was happening. 0

The individuals stationed at the entrance formed a human wall, both vigilant and wary of anyone not involved in the operation who might cause trouble. 0

The Jiang Family had been granted considerable viewing privileges, with dozens of individuals available for selection. The one who initially had the perspective was assigned to stand at the gate as part of the human wall, and then the scene shifted to another member who was advancing deeper into the Gu Family residence with the main group. The leader seemed very familiar with the area, navigating through the irregularly arranged buildings without hesitation, ensuring they didn’t waste time going in circles. 0

"Is that person one of those who went in with you last time?" Song Bunan asked curiously. Xiao Mei shook her head, insisting it was impossible. The Jiang Family had opted out of participation, providing no manpower or resources, so this individual could not possibly be from their family. 0

"However, his route seems similar to the one we took last time when we were led there. Even though we were blindfolded, the turns felt consistent. Could it be they found someone from our previous group to draw a map?" Xiao Mei said excitedly, pounding her fist. 0

Song Bunan replied that it was possible; after all, money was a major motivator nowadays. As long as they paid enough, one would certainly provide a clear and detailed map—even marking which bricks were elevated. Xiao Mei rolled her eyes at this and retorted, "Not everyone is like you, obsessed with money. We were all blindfolded back then; just because it felt right doesn’t mean it was right. Only Shui Su could pull something like that off." 0

"Interesting," Song Bunan raised an eyebrow at her. "Shui Su is required not to interfere as a Ghost Messenger while also claiming he won't participate as part of the Jiang Family. Yet here he is leaking route information without even showing himself..." 0

"He’s in the group," Xiao Mei suddenly interrupted him, her expression turning serious. Song Bunan recognized she wasn’t joking and continued watching the live feed. The camera appeared to be positioned at a height where he and several team members were searching a room. Among them stood an unfamiliar man carefully examining documents inside, facing directly towards the camera. 0

Though they had never seen his face before, there was no mistaking those eyes—those were definitely Jiang Shui Su’s eyes. 0
