Outside the General Manager's office, Ye Guiwen took a deep breath.
As she exhaled, one of the buttons on her fitted blazer popped off with a "snap." She rubbed her round belly and sighed inwardly, blaming her mother for insisting on six buns instead of the promised four!
Ye Guiwen glanced around helplessly, found a folder to shield herself, and tightened her abdomen before finally mustering the courage to knock on the door.
"General Yin, I'm coming in..." Ye Guiwen pushed the door open and slowly made her way to the large desk.
Yin Yanhe didn't even look up, quickly scanning through documents while issuing instructions: "Get me last month's sales report and the monthly plan. Why hasn't it been submitted yet? Bring in the person in charge of the Meilin Project. Notify the Human Resources Department that the sales manager for the North District won't need to come to work starting tomorrow. Also, draft this week's schedule and let me know in ten minutes."
One second, two seconds, three seconds... Half a minute passed with no response.
Only then did Yin Yanhe raise his head and glance at Ye Guiwen, whose expression was somewhat peculiar. He frowned and asked, "Any questions?"
Ye Guiwen's mind raced as she realized something and nodded: "Could you please repeat that? I didn't catch it just now."
"Didn't catch it?"
"Yes," Ye Guiwen replied honestly. "You spoke too quickly; I didn't have time to take notes."
Yin Yanhe didn't respond immediately. He raised an eyebrow and leaned back slightly in his chair. He looked Ye Guiwen up and down before slowing his speech: "I’ll give you two options: either go out now and take care of what I just instructed, or head straight to the Human Resources Department to collect your paycheck. Did you understand that clearly this time?"
Ye Guiwen felt a bit dazed, unable to comprehend where she had gone wrong. Truly, he was known throughout the company as the "Tyrant"!
She turned around, feeling dejected as she walked out, but then she heard Yin Yanhe call out to her. Had the leader changed their mind? She quickly pulled out a pen and paper, jogging back, "What is it? I'll take care of it right away!"
Yin Yanhe was silent for a moment before saying, "Miss Ye, this is a company setting. Please be mindful of your appearance."
Ye Guiwen blinked in confusion and followed Yin Yanhe's gaze down to herself, her face instantly turning bright red.
The only button on her blazer had somehow popped off, revealing a large patch of bare skin. To make matters worse, she was only wearing a half-cup bra underneath! Ye Guiwen quickly pulled her jacket together, embarrassment flooding her as she turned away, wishing she could disappear into the ground.
However, when she reached the door, she suddenly stopped, conflicted for a moment before rushing back. She opened her mouth and said, "I didn't quite catch what you said, but since this matter is so important and I don't want to get fired, I’ll call everyone in so you can explain it clearly to them. Would that be alright?"
Yin Yanhe was taken aback. "What?"
Ye Guiwen lowered her head. "Didn't you also not hear it clearly?"
The office fell into a dead silence.
Ye Guiwen inexplicably broke out in a cold sweat, but to her surprise, Yin Yanhe calmly said, "Notify all team leaders that there will be a meeting in ten minutes."
"Ah?" Ye Guiwen was stunned by the unexpected gentleness from her superior.
"Was I not clear enough?" Meeting Yin Yanhe's piercing gaze made Ye Guiwen shiver; she nodded while backing away. "I'll go right away!"
